I wouldn't mind letting him go if we could bring a quality cb. He has been a defensive liability this season and his main contribution is his goals from set-pieces. But we have no money to spend and there's no great opportunity in free agency. So i would rather keep him for one more season.

Will miss the back post headers. He's at an age where he has a few good years left, which can be as a starter for a midtable club.

If we were playing a 4-man defence, then I won't mind him as a backup for LB or RB. But in our current formation, he is useless. Nowhere close to being good enough as a WB, and not as a CB as well.

That said, he earns €2m per season. I'm not thrilled with extending him at the same wages considering last season was easily his worst in an Inter jersey which says a lot because he's always been a mediocre player. He scored handful of nice goals but in defense he was abysmal. He's also been made completely redundant by Darmian.

This. To me it doesn't make sense to keep him. He can't backup Skriniar anymore, he just can't. The quality drop is just too big.

Like I've ranted in this thread, he has a very specific role he can fill (or two roles). Filler in the final minutes of games, if we take out let's say exhausted wingback or midfielder. He comes in to be just extra body in our box. Or when we are chasing and piling pressure on opponent's box, he can be brought in to do those excellently timed runs to score goals / create havoc.

All that is nice, but these situations are pretty rare in the end and do we want one guy to take roster spot to only fill these roles? I repeat, D'Ambrosio cannot back up Skriniar, let alone rotate with him.
