This guy just keeps scoring when he plays. I fully get why Inzaghi trusts our starting midfield. However, there is starting to be part of me that is starting to wonder if Frattesi’s lack of technical ability is worth putting up with if he’s going to score at the rate of a striker.

Obviously he’s not going to do that across a season. However, he’s got legitimate end product. I mean scoring goals is the toughest skill in the game right?

Really making a case to be in the starting lineup. However, if he starts, who does he bench ?

IMO it's working pretty well for Inzaghi atm. We get the goals from Frattesi when we need them and it's not like we lack goals in general. To me it's not worth to change anything.

Consider change when things stops working. Our game is still a lot about possession football and Frattesi just doesn't seem to fit to it too well.

Maybe in the future Inzaghi starts to change our style to fit players like Frattesi (when Mkhi is finally out). More direct to utilize Frattesi more and then also Frattesi improving his game aswell.

You don’t make a case in the national jersey, you do so by putting in performance on the team that you work for. There been several players before being excellent at one but not being able to showcase the same performance in the other jersey, so at the end of the day, how you perform on NT is largely irrelevant as it’s another context.

Also as CC state Inzaghi has to change our tactics to accommodate him, as he isn’t really fit for our possession style football and it’s not like goals are missing, so it’s just isn’t really making a big case.

As the saying goes if it ain’t broken don’t fix it.

He also almost scored against France with a header, hitting the crossbar

He made himself free, then running for his goal. Certainly making the right moves!

Lampard didnt make same runs as Frattesi had whole different style of playing football. Can't compare those two

Lampards runs into the box where some of he best I ve ever seen in football but sure frattesi is already better.
Again dont believe me? MAybe you ll believe one of the best coaches of the last 30 years who coached frank. Here s ancelotti on Frank: “I think he’s the best running midfielder in the world. He has this fantastic quality .. to time his run into the box.”

But sure Frattesis runs into the box are better. Gimme a break

Where am I triggered? I m just starting to doubt you ever watched Lampard play.... or you just forgot.....
Again your argument of different runs is nonsensical but what ever..
Also the whole discussion is about him making great runs into the box which is why some people on here think he d make a great striker ( he wont) I said the best runs into the box from any midfielder of the last 30 years was probably Frank ( and i m not even a fan) and there s a reason coaches like ancelotti did not ever think about moving them to a striker position.

Last but not least frattesi and lamps have a very simiilar set of skills....

Where are you triggered? If that's your normal way of communicating with a person then good night

Leave that sabre rattling there okay. Discussed the players like Adriano did in his latest post.

He is relentless— that is his true strength. He’ll have to improve his overall play for sure to suite Inzaghi, but I’m not sure how much longer he can ignore a midfielder who can score 15 goals per season with enough minutes for the starting xi. Those numbers haven’t been hit yet, but I have little doubt he can do it.

It is about winning games though, so as long as that’s happening, I’m not going to complain. He’s actually perfect as a super-sub for us right now, but I don’t think he’ll be happy with his minutes for much longer and I don’t wanna lose him.

The reason why Lampard never converted to a striker is because he was a monster of a midfielder with pretty much all attributes of a legendary midfielder not because he could simply score (same as Bellingham). That is an incredibly shortsighted argument.
And I think you are reading between the lines. People are saying he could be a striker simply because his instinct and eye for goal around the area is above many pure strikers.
He can probably be the first to invent a new role ( midfield poacher ). He does fuck all in terms of distribution but just scores.

I don't know about the Perrotta role thing, basically for that to work, you need a playmaker (Totti), and additional midfielders (no strikers all midfielders) for ball possessions and running from behind (in order to compensate his lack of link up and tempo control), and not only we are not playing with no strikers, we are playing with 2 strikers, so we cannot get the additional midfielders.

I mean I think it would be the best, he just gets better at the link up, he doesn't need to be spectacular just good enough to help carry the role and keep his element as well.

Also when I first read, I thought people were saying he is like Perrotta, I am like I certainly hope not, Frattesi seems to have a lot more flair and better physically, it would be a waste to just treat him as a technical limited dude you know.

With that said, he needs to work on his involvement in build up, like he likes to play only attack and defense, and nothing in between. Else I mean use a forward that likes to drop back more and do link up, I mean we have Taremi this year, who likes that.

Anyway keep scoring man!!

Don't have one.

Nah, the way we play and how much our midfielders must participate in build up play, i m pretty sure he will never start consistently as long as inzaghi is here, despite the goals. It's not like we struggle to score goals, so he has to look at that and go oh I must play him.

He is the perfect guy for the role he is currently playing, i m just wondering how long will he be satisfied with that. My guess is he is gonna get sold next summer, in fact i m almost certain of that, and we will try and bring another mkhi, barella, zielinski replica.
