I’m beyond ready to sell. Fucking shit.

He isn't shit but he has a very limited use and he was never worth the money Inter spent for him. He is destined to be a rotation option against midtable Serie A clubs. Certainly not in CL where level is higher.

I think if you’re a midfielder that can’t occupy the right spaces, doesn’t get involved in the play, and makes an average of less than 10 passes a game, in my head you’re shit at being a midfielder.

I get most frustrated with him because we spent an honestly obscene amount of money on him considering our financial situation, which to be fair isn’t his fault.

He gets exposed the most when the team is not playing well or when we defend. His inability to get involved in gameplay pretty much means we play with 10 men. You can have all the skill in the world and Haaland finishing if you cant showcase it because you are straight up not showing up.
If that offer from Tottenham is real just take it and run. A swap for Dragusin if that would be on the table would be a dream scenario.

He hasnt developed at all since his move and at at times looks to be playing by himself. Not sure what he does apart from offer intensity/pressing - and that seems directionless. I've defended him before but he's lacking technically and the goals have dried up. I mean, he's not as bad as Gagliardini but he's defo sub material.
You can see why Inzaghis first-choice midfield is his first-choice midfield!

Don't have one.
I don't think he has any ability to further develop, he is a finished player in that sense. He is a midfielder with a very niche set of skills that can be only used as an impact sub in our setup. Still think he can be good in certain types of setups where playing football and having the ability to pass a ball on a high level isn't exactly required.

Imo he would be great in english football, a team like west ham for example. That's why I think we can still cash in on him and further improve our squad. In the summer in terms of selling, that should be priority number one.

In short, he should never be a starter if we want to win.

Delving around looking for stats to back up what I and everyone sees to notice anecdotally about his little he is involved. I have managed to find stats for touches of the ball this season for the whole squad and this is a stat that has to be taken in conjunction with minutes played of course. These are Serie A only, but we know Frattesi is not discerning with what competition he fails to impose himself on.

As a reference point Miki has the most minutes played (1,132) and has recorded 807 touches. For clarity, when a player receives a pass, dribbles and then passes to someone else counts as one touch. This means Miki is touching the ball on average once every 1.4 mins (or 84 seconds). Obviously the lower this figure the more a player is seeing the ball and being involved. Defenders and midfielders should be higher than attackers for self-evident reasons.

Here are some other defender stats:

Di Marco: 1.47
Bastoni: 0.98

Here are some strikers stats:

Thuram: 2.99
Lautaro: 3.08

And here are the midfielders with whom Frattesi should be recording similar stats:

Asslani: 0.75
Hakan: 0.96
Zielinski: 1.02
Barella:1.21
Miki: 1.40
Frattesi: 2.46

So basically Frattesi is touching the ball around half the number of times as any of the other advanced midfielders.

If Inzaghi could convert Mkhitaryan who is naturally an SS/AMC to a CM, why couldn't he do it with Frattesi?

Just play him in a forward role already. He clearly lacks all the tools to play as a CM. The only thing he's good at is having an eye for goals.

Simply he’s neither striker or midfielder, he’s destructor to opponent’s game plan for neutralising us, but, well, sometimes he’s done same thing to our game plan.

It seems a weird suggestion that because he does score some goals from midfield that this would equip him to be a striker. He cannot get on the ball in areas of the pitch in which he has always played and where it's much easier to do so, so to play in attack where you have less space to receive the ball and to play in when you do would compound that issue.

I'm starting to hope that Juventus come in for him again this summer, and if they do then a different outcome to transpire.

Not sure what his role is and what he aspires to become. Put in a good defensive shift but that’s about it

Asllani played 60 min and had twice the number of passes, Zielinski played 90 and had 3 times more.
He also had 72 % meanwhile the other 2 had 96 and 97 %
I would really love to hear some inside thoughts on his role and contribution since I really cant figure it out. Was he always lacking the passing game ? I am really tempted to go back to his Sassuolo days and dig up some stats if available. What was the player profile that was presented when we splashed 30 mil on him. This guy is really an enigma for me and I cant believe we paid that cash for a "goalscoring midfielder"

.. And I am pretty sure Asllani and Zielinski had far more dangerous passes..

I too am baffled as to how is he THAT bad

Maybe splitting ways would've been the best scenario for both, Inter and Frattesi.

I like his character, but sadly it doesn't seem like it's going to work. He's not a bad player though. It's just his playing style doesn't fit to Inter.
