It feels like there is no proper January without any rumours about a swap deal with Roma. Spinazzola-Politano, Sanchez-Dzeko, Frattesi-Cristante.

Let’s fucking hope we won’t see Cristante in our beloved jersey. Besides being a very, very mediocre player, he’s an absolute arsehole.

If we are able to get 45 mln for Frattesi, we can maybe invest that money in Ricci. Then we’re talking.

Ghisolfi in Milano. Is this really brewing?

Frattesi for 45M€ even in split payments + 6month loan of Crystante is decent.

But if its Crystante to us and Frattesi to Roma , both options. I would think Beppe has gone crazy.

Cristante is not so bad back up for Hakan if he comes only on loan, and if this allows us to collect 45mln from Frattesi. This will give us the financial boost to get Niko Paz in the summer and an adequate Hakan's replacement.

Cristante is an awful footballer. Not sure if he'd be any slight improvement over Asllani. Can't believe I used to rate him on his Atalanta days

Going from Asllani to someone like Cristante would've been just a waste of effort.

Ofc he is bad. But this loan would give Oaktree perfect excuses not to spend alot this month and target the healthy finances in the summer when the numbers will be added together.

A player for player ( and 45M€)

LaRoma24.it > " si lavora per Frattesi. Possibile prestito di Cristante come contropartita"

This would mean Crystante's loan to you as a bonus to smooth things over.

Im all up for letting Frattesi go but not for Roma trash. I would accept Pellegrini because he is actually good.

Issue is we would need to do the move now, since we need a body now. We have only 5 midfielders if Frattesi leaves. But I cannot see Cairo selling in January.

Ricci would be a perfect add.

What’s clear is that January or the summer mercato is the right time to sell. He still has estimators, due in large part to his persistent scoring with the Italian national team. I honestly don’t think people who aren’t inter fans have seen his appearances with us (not that many to be fair). He is always a threat sure, but also completely out of sync with how we play. Everyone seems to think Inzaghi is shafting him or there’s some kind of tension, but it’s clearly a tactical/ sporting reason he doesn’t see the pitch often. Inzaghi would play him more if he wasn’t completely lost out there when he does play. The team needs to win at the end of the day. We don’t owe any favors to any player to play.

His ability to crash the box is next level, but that isn’t enough of a contribution for a player with such a high book value. Better to offload while he’s still rated by the football world at large. That will begin to fade the longer he rots on the bench.

I’d rush to sell him in January and push for Ricci. He doesn’t get gametime and when he does it’s hardly any and he doesn’t play well. Plus you risk another half year of potential injury. I’d sell for as low as 35ish which is where his value should be imo. The only scenario where I’d keep him is if Torino won’t play ball. If Toro are willing to sell we need to do this in January. I’m not sure I rate him as a Kvara replacement though. That’s a big downgrade for a team in the title race.

Samuele Ricci won't be cheap, he'll go from anywhere between 35 to 40 i believe, no less than that.

I doubt Oaktree is making this huge splash, in January aswell, where the market is always overpriced.

And even if we finally have the funds, what is the target here. To replace Hakan? A 40m bench player , who won't get even gametime, because Hakan owns that spot. I get that we need a quality replacement for Hakan , but he's expensive replacement and won't be even ready.

The only way to have this deal appealing is to somehow bring the price down with player inclusion. Maybe Fabbian , but isn't his payback solution postponed to this summer?

He is basically Roma's Gagliardini, but he is not so bad defensively. Especially compare to Asllani.
If Asllani is used as registra vs lower teams, and used as sub of Barella otherwise, and we bring Cristante when we need to hold the result, I really don't mind. This is short term patch, which will allow us to collect 45mln in the process, and as I've said before, if somebody is ready to splash those money for Frattesi now, we shouldn't think twice
