And I want to repeat this to death, but Frattesi has played more minutes this season than Asllani, even after recent weeks when Asllani has played clearly more. Frattesi has the unluck of having Barella in front of him in the pecking order. But he isn't forcing himself to be selected to play more.

I'm not losing hope on him, I feel we're be still worse if he leaves mid-season, we can't replace him adequately probably. But the attitude is of course an issue and I think Inter and Inzaghi won't watch this guy there if he starts sulking on a daily basis.

I think it's also the possibility that our starting midfield is just so good that Frattesi and Zielinski seem mediocre by comparison.

When was the last time we've had a central midfield this good? Even under Mou, you'd have to throw Sneijder in the mix, who was an AM.

Interview with @Darth_Ausilio :

Inter update on Frattesi

The transfer window is also open, but after weeks of speculation around Davide Frattesi and Roma, is that saga over for the midfielder?
“In reality, it’s quite simple. The lad never came to ask us for a sale. The coach checked with everyone in the squad, they are all concentrated on our many objectives. Frattesi is an important player in this team, he never explicitly asked to leave.

Clubs never made a formal approach to us either. His agent is a nice guy, and he is a friend, but he’s also very active and probably created some movement especially in the media.

“As I said, we are very happy with Frattesi, he hasn’t played so much recently not because of technical reasons, but due to slight physical issues. Despite not being at 100 per cent, he never pulled back and always said he was ready to play when needed.” - Ausilio
Interpretation: that's not a proper approach. Show us the money and you can have him.

Happy for his goals tonight. I thought he did very well tonight (besides of the goals). Still plenty of room for improvement, but at least he looks hungry to play and show himself.

Very good for us, at least we can keep the price tag after good performances, or luckily demand for even more after the season if he wants a transfer.

Thuram brought him a goal on a silver platter, yet he ran away without even looking at Marcus and celebrated like he was the one dribbling through all those opponents. Not sure if I want a player with an attitude like that in Inter

He scored and drew a penalty but still did hardly anything an Inter midfielder does. I still hardly saw any good pass or decent one, saw a few awful ones. In fact the short period of Lecce dominance were they could have got back into the game started from him having 5 passing options but somehow giving the ball straight to a Lecce player.

So while happy with the goals still not anywhere near convinced.

His gameplay involvement was just as low as ever. That literally never changes. Lecce gave us a a fuckton of space and that is where he thrives. He can move forward through channels and pop up in goalscoring positions. Also anywhere besides right cm he gets completely lost. Noticed him and Miki often changed position but as soon as he gets on the left its over.
Its like he has a near max scoring stat and all the rest are borderline crap except some physicality.

Yea his passing is atrocious, but the game plan was kinda different, it doesn't require him to be that involved in the build up, he does drop back and provide an extra passing option more to relieve pressure, and it was funny to see he doesn't know what to do with the ball sometimes when he cannot directly attack, and he will choose to dribble it out even it is not the most appropiate; also the play seems to be a lot more direct, he acts as a receiving point for the striker to lay off (similar too what Barella does when playing with Lukaku), or an extra man attacking the space when our striker (striker almost being as a traditional AMF or SS) is initiating the attack , and a lot more carrying for progressing and breakthrough; it shortens up possession time, which we don't control as much as we do normally, and it is very all or nothing.

This is kind of risky, but it will work like a charm against smaller teams or teams we can outscore, cause it is forcing more of the individual quality to reflect as the match results, since it is like trading punches, instead of methodologically controlling the game.

Just my 2 cents, I can be completely off.
