the only reason he cuts inside is because he has to transfer the ball to his right foot to either cross it or shoot it..he wouldnt be cutting if he could cross it with his left foot ..or if he could pass a line ball with his left foot
you do have a point as on the right flank he should be crossing the ball when in that field situation and wont be cutting in as much because of his left foot..
when Santon cuts inside he uses his right foot on the left flank..his left foot hasnt got the skill to to that on the right flank..
im starting to think that Santon will make a great CB one day?

Well if he develops his physique with time, he can become one. Right now he is not sturdy enough to be a strong CB ... but he has got time on his side.
i've seen him with the NT, he utilized the flanks more, and was really impressive there .. like Grosso on the left, but sure with better defending and faster movements :thumbsup:

10 years of FIFYeah, he is becoming better and better.. Let's focus carefully on him, and check if we can trust him against Chelsea, even so there should be any experienced player that he may beat Bosingwa, I think Santon has a potential and have so nice runs, but still not sure. Let's see what'll happen.

he's making some good runs now too. dribbling players a little bit like zanetti, but his final passes have let him down a bit sometimes. if only he had an assist on the end of one of those runs. hopefully that's to come :boogy:

Solid game by Davide today, but I couldn't help notice the thumps up he was exchanging with Mou and his teammates applauding his efforts. I think it's good, but I think it should stop so that he is treated like a normal player and not a rookie (it's his second season after all.)

10 years of FIFI think it is just to give Davide confidence which he lost somewhere along the way last season, and it kept him down for a long time.

Not sure about this mate, I would love to see Santon in top form before the match against Chelsea but still it's a risk to include Santon as LB, because Bosingwa can be very dangerous and he may beat Santon in majority, his crosses could be nightmare for us, because there is Drogba.
But I'm not sure what we can do about LB, Zanetti was great against Rubin Kazan and this makes me a bit confused, I'm not sure if we should play Zanetti as LB over Santon.
Hope he(Santon) will prove us soon, that we may trust him against Chelsea.
