SOLARI AFFAIR: REAL MADRID TO PAY INTER
Thursday, 03 June 2004 14:17:55
LAUSANNE - The meeting between F.C. Internazionale and Real Madrid at the IOC's Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) concluded late Thursday morning. Inter were represented by president Giacinto Facchetti, while the Spanish club were represented by Director of Legal Affairs Antonio Vazquez Alvarez.

The two clubs issued a joint communique at the end of the meeting: "Given the excellent rapport between the two clubs, F.C. Internazionale and Real Madrid, and thanks to the precious collaboration of the Court of Arbitration, the clubs have decided to define the controversy relative to the interpretation of the transfer agreement which saw player Ronaldo move to the Spanish club, and the position of player Solari. Real Madrid will pay F.C. Internazionale the sum of eight million euros, to be divided as follows: seven million euros by 30 June 2004, one million euros by 30 June 2005".

Yeah, we threw away Nesta, Chivu in the past. yeah it;s true. but I don;t forget this. because I really fully trust Moratti ability. but finally I'm very hurt. but you dun think that it's gonna be a repeat again? I hope so.

Agree with you. no problem.

Dont forget Lucio as well. We could have got him but we didnt think it was a good idea to bid for one of the best defenders in the world...

Capitano better keep on using his silk tongue to lure Samuel. They're gonna be spending plenty of time with each with the Confed. Cup still going on and of course World Cup Qf's.

At Real Madrid, he's just another player (and not even liked by their fans) but at Inter he'd be treated like royalty.

Exactly, and that's what JZ has to tell him. Our fans are great, they cheer on the likes of Materazzi and Morfeo, guess what they'd do when they see the Wall of 02-04 performing with us?

A stumbling block could be Samuel's family. If I am not mistaken, Walter is married to a Spaniard, and that was one of the reasons he chose Spain. I just hope his wife isn't from Madrid or that she doesn't have the same command as Mrs. Trapattoni.

JZ, Cambiasso and Kily have some convincing to do :hopefull:

IMO Grosso mind close left wing. on LB? so his defensive ability not good. he had very attacking mind and very good crross.

This season his role is LW. of course few match played on LB. but Grosso more good on LW.

Anyway I believe Grosso will not join us.

Well Grosso is not that big an upgrade and he is 28 now, and you should know by now that I'm against bring players into our team over the age of 27. It might seem strange to you but that is my philosephy.

he might have been one of the best but that is just not enough. We need a great LB not one of Grossos calibre. unfortuanally there are not many of them and the few that acctually exist is more or less taken. :(

And can you explain a bit about your philosophy? At the age of 27-29, football players are generally at the peak of their career. Those players have good experience from football fields and their skills are generally at the maximum level. Just my opinion, of course. :) But it's nothing wrong to get player with age of 28 or so.

players at 27-29 age are at top of their playing cariere. but normaly they have 4-5 years left to play top...
and every team should have few players in first 11 at that age

i love grosso but dont need him.. bring solari and there is kily too.. if kily goes then grosso is great because he is lb and lw, like ze maia is. great player for bench...

Calcio mercato is reporting that 'a lot will slip tomorrow regarding the transfers of W.Samuel and Solari'.

We will wait and see.

That would be great, as it's always better to have the main players of the squad to be fixed earlier on, rather than wait till the last minute of transfer date.

And yeah, lots of sites have said that the deal is more and more close; also stating that Samuel has already said YES to the move. :proud:

;)

there is a reason why I don't want player in that age, and that is of the simple reason that I want them to be a intergrated part of the team by then, so we can use their abilities much more then if you just have bought them, besides players are often alot cheeper if you buy them before that age. And it also have to do with that I'm only interested in long time solutions so when I'm getting a player we should have him for atleast 6 years at his top. 26/27-32/33.

Ever counted average time players tend to play for one club? If not you should.

Have to say than experienced players are extremely under rated also here on FI (like in every web forum). That's is sad and even a bit ignorant in my opinion.

And we had better to stick with Favalli. He's good enough, however.

Favalli is quite under-rated. Only world-class left backs (e.g. Cole, Zambrotta, Heinze) are better. So unless we purchase a world-class left back (which honestly I would like) we should use Favalli.
