So weird when we can find out that either Darmian or Dumfries sparkling after coming off the bench. Is this kind of assertion those two only suit for being bench players?

Did well today, wish he'd attack forward with the ball more and drive the defender back, then cut back or cross. Overall good job, should have had another assist too.

Starting to be a 7 for the team, and all I can see is he can keep growing.
I have never compared him with Hakimi, way too different style; the pass to Barella was superb today during the final minutes, it was really from nothing.
Won't say he only shines coming off the bench.
Darmian on the other hand would be more of an impact sub, given his physical limitation these days.

Dear Denzel,

I like you. But please remember your teammates can only score when you pass the ball forward. The goal is on the other side. Enough with the back passes. You are getting better with your positioning but you need to keep moving the ball forward.

Thanks,
FIF

tbh I like that he prefers to pass the back instead of serving hundreds of useless crosses like Candreva. We are attacking with many players and every pass which is intercepted by the opponents leads to counter-attack.

Exactly, he is cautious, when he feels unsure of going forward, he takes his time and doesn't wanna lose possession.

I am very fond of him actually. It was obvious the guy needs time to settle.

His positioning and timing in terms of runs is improving, but decision making is still nonexistent. I'm afraid this guy either completely lacks the football intelligence required to create a key pass, or simply can't deal with the stress of making a mistake, making him opt out for the most mundane of the safe choices with back passes. He needs to grow a pair and start making decisions, even a poor decision is better than no decision.

Imo, his crosses are pretty decent so far, take a look at his cross on alexis yesterday, and never dare to forget for his special weapon aka ground crosses.

Exactly.

This is very much what the coach wants from him. Rather keep possession than try something you will probably fail.

Again, there is a reason this guy cost 12.5m€ and not 40m€. He is not a top level player, and that's just fine given our resources. We didn't invest top level money for the guy so don't expect top level output.

Dumfries is at his best when he's storming the box with his physicality, going for those backpost headers. Or then when Sanchez gives those diagonal/vertical passes behind the opponent defence line. No other player seems to be capable of giving those.

Dumfries is basically our second striker. With Dzeko/Alexis continues to drop deep, it's always just him and Lautaro in the box when Perisic serves a cross. Fine with me cos there's always Barella and Skriniar to cover him during his forward runs.

i've seen some pages give the assist to Dzeko, even tho it does look Dumfries made it.
I think it's been attributed to Dumfries, which means 2 assists for him yesterday. His numbers might actually look quite good by the end of the season.
