If Denzel ends up being “the sacrifice” I wouldn’t be too upset.
The sale is only half of the equation though. The other half is who management would get to replace him. I do not think we can look at transfers in isolation without considering the player (if any) that comes in. For example, if the club agreed to sell, not replace him and make Darmian a starter then I would not be happy with sacrificing Dumfries.

I think the other factor that needs to be taken into consideration when it comes to selling players, is that Suning are reluctant to spend and reinvest the money and it is highly unlikely that they will bring in a replacement better than the player that was sold.

Just as a side note, I think Dumfries has improved over the course of the season and should not be sacrificed unless a strong replacement can be found.

Sell Dumfries for the rumoured price, buy Lazzari who is not part of Sarri plans. Win win situation

I'm selling Dumfries for even 30m€ and buying Singo for half the price. That's +20m€ plusvalenza right there. Anything over 30m€ price would be just great.

Sell for 30, sign Molina for 20+ counterparts or even full 30 udinese asking.

Dumfries is too limited for me and if there's a good offer I'll sell him immediately

It took Dumfries 6-7 months to settle into the team, just like it took that long for Hakimi before him. Can we stop fucking around with our RWB?

I hope we don't sell until we can afford to upgrade.

This wouldn't make much sense, the point of selling Dumfries would be to make money by replacing him with a cheaper option.

That's not how this works. We need to make money, if we can make 20m or more plusvalenza with Dumfries we do that. Dumfries has been good, but not that good that we wouldn't sacrifice him if good enough offer arrives.

The same people who want to sell Dumfries or Martinez to make money will cry when Inter struggle to make top 4 next season, and will blame Marotta or Inzaghi for it. You cannot keep downgrading and winning titles. That is not how football works.

I think its disgusting if we have to sell players again for cash flows, after we sold Lukaku & Hakimi for 175m last summer. It shows that our ownership are completely clueless with ZERO long term plans, and are just making things up on the go. Fuck Suning, seriously. If they knew that money was such a big and longer term problem, why sign players on HUGE salaries like Hakan or Dzeko? Isn't that crazy short term-ism? You can spend that 175m on big wages (and end up in the same cash flow issue again next year), or spend it on transfer fee of younger talented players with much lower wages. The only way the signings of Hakan and Dzeko made sense was if the ownership knew that cash flow was a temporary, one time problem.

Seriously, any fan who thinks that selling some of our younger first team players for money and then signing Dybala on a "free" is a good idea is an idiot. It makes no sense. You are only making your cash flow problem worse.

I’ve been on the record as being anti selling Dumfries. I think we are underestimating his impact on the team in terms of mentality. He isn’t technically gifted but he’s a D’Ambrosio type. He is only 26 and he has developed a lot in a season. I’d like to see what Inzaghi can get out of him with a full preseason under his belt to work on attacking movements.

However, with that being said, if we HAVE to sell someone for plusvalenza and there are offers for Dumfries he should probably be the one to go. Essentially the two Dutch guys are the players that are the most expendable from the ones that actually have transfer value.

There are solid RWB options available in the Serie A market that are younger and probably have a bit more quality. Molina would probably be my first choice with Singo close behind.

I think we were considering Molina last season, but he was valued for 30 mln euro back then.

Selling De Vrij or selling Dumfries is not the same thing. De Vrij's wages are almost double of Dumfries. If cash flows are the reason for sales, selling De Vrij for less money still makes much more sense. Not just coz of their age difference, but also coz it helps reduce the wage bill, which reduces the cash flows needed.

Our 3 highest earners right now are Sanchez, Dzeko and Hakan. Two of which we signed last summer. If cash flow is still a concern, surely the ownership knew about this last summer. Why the f**k did we sign Dzeko & Hakan? That was just like creating another cash flow problem down the line. That is the point I'm trying to make.

And if the ownership did not think cash flow will be a problem by signing Dzeko & Hakan, then why the fuck do we need to sell again? We are Inter, not Atalanta. If Suning can't handle that, GTFO of my club pls!

Don't have one.
We probably ain't using all of that money from selling him to buy another wingback, coz that's kinda defeating a purpose of our need to raise plusvalenza, similar to what happened when we sold hakimi and bought dumfries.

Now, the biggest problem for me is that I don't think we will be lucky second time around trying to find a proper rwb replacement in terms of bang for your back like we did with dumfries who replaced hakimi reasonably well if you look at his stats. It's much more likely we will end with some bland rwb option like darmian who can only be used as a player for rotation.

I'm saying all of this coz finding proper useful wb is really hard in today's football, they are rare coz position is difficult as fuck. We struck gold in hakimi, maybe silver with dumfries so just by a rule of chance we will probably struck shit next time around.

The only one I can think of is the Ajax guy Mazraoui, unless Bayern have snapped him up on a free already.

We need a pacey wingback. Mazraoui isn't that. But he's a welcome addition to our squad if he's available
