I hope he stays at Athletico.

We really don’t need to spend money on CBs unless we sell one of our starters

(not so) breaking news, he has already signed for us. He'll be an Inter player from the 1st of july.

It is funny how we complain about losing Zaniolo but occupy every possible slot for another top prospect like Bastoni though ...
If we hire Conte which I don't want to happen, we gonna have a wagon of CBs due to his favourite formation.

What favorite formation?

He played 4-4-2 with Bari. The same with Atalanta, occasionally had a 4-5-1. Then moved to Siena where he changed formation every 5 seconds (4-4-2, 3-5-2, 4-5-1, 3-6-1 etc). Then moved to Juventus, started with a 4-4-2, changed to a 4-3-3 and then eventually settled to a 3-5-2 after a season. In Italy he used three formations: 3-5-2, 4-3-3 and 4-4-2. Then moved to Chelsea, started with a back 4 (some sort of 4-5-1) only to switch to a 3-4-3 and keep it that way until he left.

So what is his favourite formation and what makes you say it is that one? If anything, Conte plays with 4 at the back everywhere he goes unless he feels he has to change. And then he changes. But he starts with 4 at the back everywhere he's gone. Only at Italy did he not do that because he simply had the same core of players as he did with Juventus.

Conte's first choice is 4-2-4 but he always ends up flipping to a 3 man defense.

so what is his wage? 6.75m base or including bonus? Even with bonus that's still shitload of money for a position which is the least of our concern and on top of that he is 33 fucking years old.

4mil+performance bonuses that might reach 6mil
It's about getting a player which actually won something, no one at this team knows the feeling and you need some of that in a team that wants more...

Yeah Godin brings the experience of winning. That's why he's paid a ton. Spanish media reports these 6.75m salaries because they have to write a narrative how he left them for the money. When the reality seems to be that Atletico didn't offer him the extension early enough which was promised and/or they didn't offer him a role big enough anymore.

Maybe he can be our marquee summer signing like Vidic was in 2014.

This wage is too good to be true.

6.75 net is his wage, without bonuses. That's what everyone is reporting anyway.

Forlan and Vidic also brought the experience of winning.

Like I said that 6.75m originates from Spanish media because they want to create this narrative I told in my earlier post. Of course the term (3 years) we offered matters a lot on Godin's decision too. Probably Atletico offered max 2 years. But I don't believe a second the base salary is 6.75m.

GdS took it from Spain, so I wouldn`t trust that report.

I actually expect him to earn a lot in his 1st year, then slightly less, then even less in his 3rd year. So I guess it depends which of his 3 years is the media talking about, I doubt they reported the median/average figure.
