Due to the age he is in theory signed for the youth team but i have a feeling he is the chosen one to play the Pinamonti role , playing with Primavera during this year but training with the 1st team.

Spalleti compared him to Karamoah as a talented kid, who has the bravery to take defenders 1on1 but not yet the maturity to make the best decision. Eager to see who between him and Colidio will be able to shine more during this pre-season. That said we were somehow prepared to pay a lot of money for this kid last year when he was just 15 and now managed to get him at 16 so probably there must be smth special about him....

He played twice for Genoa and was on their bench a lot last year so I guess he been training with pros for a while.

Well this transfer is kind a obvious just for manipulate the capital gain which is urgent last month.
We sent Valietti (7.5m) and Radu (on loan with 7.5m) to Genoa, so if this Salcedo kid option to buy is at 15m, then we practically just free swap that 2 former primavera guy with this kid, thanks to the good relationship with Genoa. They kinda need a back up GK anyway and we want to strengthen the primavera squad for the upcoming UEFA Youth League.
