this is one thing i do not understand about simones tactics guys like dzeko tall fast skilled in small spaces play 40 meters from goal while short not that skilled lautaro plays in box or closer to goal. you would think like in every other team i saw shorter guys constantly are the ones playiing 30-49 meters from goal and tall strong skilled plyers play in box or close to box
It depends on the player type and playing style. Lautaro is not the SS type of player like for example Sanchez is these days. Lautaro is first and foremost a CF. He scores goals, important ones. He's not a fox-in-the-box type of CF like Icardi but his toolbox is better. Does a lot of other stuff, has grown a lot and plays very intelligently these days.

Dzeko needs to be in the box. He doesn't help much by dropping deep, especially when the wing back and central midfielder don't push up while he drops.

Yeah that's the issue with Dzeko atm (against formidable opponents). To use Dzeko's "playmaking" ability, wingbacks and CMs like Barella would have to push forward faster. Only Lautaro upfront doesn't do anything for us as there needs to be more options to pass to.

His goal tally is good, but let's get real. It's all garbage time goals.

He needs to start scoring consequential goals.

The guy is a natural goal scorer period. Yes perhaps getting up there in age but still a player I would trust to come on and put one away if given the chance.

Being the first to score a goal in a 6-1 win is a garbage time goal?

god man this is crazy how much they defend lautaro. i mean last year serie a was just crazy juve 3rd an this year showed how bad they are but lets talk inter. last year they played cointer attacking football with coach who is emotional and he will get them playing 110% but simeone is more of thinker not hoora b.s. lets go and play hard and win. simone is more of lets string few passes together lets think where we should be and score great goal with calm and sometimes intensity. lautao is not iq player like lukaku is not. when they needed to use their iq football skills in champions league they were 3rd or 4th in the group and that is what europeis iq who can outsmart other and against top half or more in serie a. i am watching bologna game and after 6 1 they start to play safe want to go forward dont want to go forward.

Dzeko has what I call the "solo uselessness". So do many others in this team for that matter. What I mean by that term, is the complete inability to produce anything on their own. I don't expect Dzeko (or any player) to win us games by themselves but too much of this squad is incapable of producing anything outside of the team framework. No one is capable of creating a moment of magic to unlock a tight game. They lack the technique, imagination, skill or pace. If the team isn't working, who will step up and get us across the line with a moment of individual brilliance? Certainly not Dzeko
omg first they tell you inter tactcis revolved around lukako all ball went to him inforward positions now it is strikers need to create everything strikers are there to score goals not be number 10 and spread the ball around not even messi or levandowski go around creating chance for him but wait for wingers and midfield to put the ball where he likes to score and inter is getting there more possesion game now they need to learn through balls crossing and 1-2s lolinter much better this year playing type of football that can mach any team while last year inter could only play against smaller teams with their intensity. any semi respectable team and they fold because counter attack agains serious top half team in europe or serie a is uselss
I think you are just trying to sound like a "know how" but, you don't really know shit about this game. Dzeko in current form is better than half the squad. The guy won every league he played in and was a top scorer in most of them. He is getting old but still has a lot to offer. The only useless thing on this forum is your comment.

What we have learned about Lautaro this season is that he is not a SS but a CF. What we have also learned about Dzeko is that his ball-holding skills are not that useful in our current set-up when there's no Dumfries to rush forward.

But football isn't a black and white game. Dzeko is experienced enough to be flexible. When we play with Kolarov/Dimarco-Darmian, he should just stay in the box as the 2nd target man while Lautaro presses around. When we have Perisic-Dumfries, Dzeko can drop deep again and see if we could explore the flank more. His versatility is an asset. This alone can offset his decline and the lack of speed (compared to Lukaku).

In any case I appreciate his humility, a rarity for forward of his calibre these days.

Yea, Lautaro is a dud; dude only scored 15 goal from open play last season, a shy of 2 goals from our last season’s top scorer Lukaku in terms of goals from open play. Also, he scored 5 goals in 6 games 2 season prior in Champions League, Lautaro is a certified scrub.

There is this thing called "punctuation". Use it.

Can you try and post with some punctuation.

Your posts are hard to read which makes me think that you are either: (1) intoxicated; (2) a troll; (3) illiterate; or (4) all of the above.
