I think the best comment about his performance was made by inzaghi after the game when he said dzeko could easily open a school for number 9, and it's so true, him movements and touch are still top-notch. With Lukaku we were lucky it worked and he wasn't injured and him being tired sometimes didn't affect the overall outcome eventually. It's pride as is already mentioned, but it's also the fact we really don't have many quality players at all that play on certain level, so they also feel duty to contribute as much as they can. Someone above said he wants to see Dzeko in his prime. For me, the current Dzeko plays exactly like him in his prime. He has been playing like this since forever. Same style, same position. He never had or relied on his pace, so I don’t see any significant decline even if he is 35. He has scored goals anywhere and will still do regularly if he has enough supply. Dzeko is like a less fancy version of Ibra. The only problem with these players is that you have to avoid overusing them because even if they are very fit, the age will cause slow recovery and more injuries.

Speaking to Bosnian news outlet Klix, the 35-year-old spoke about the reasons for his transfer to Inter from Roma and what he believes that he can contribute to his new club.

Dzeko is an experienced centre-forward who has made more than a hundred appearances for his country, and won the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg and the Premier League with Manchester City before arriving in Serie A to join Roma.

Since his arrival in the Italian capital in the summer of 2015, the Bosnian has not managed to get his hands on a Scudetto, though highlights of his impressive spell with the Giallorossi include finishing the 2016-17 season as top scorer in the league and helping fire the club to a Champions League semifinal in 2018. Through it all, and regardless of Roma’s form as a team, the striker has shown his quality, and Nerazzurri fans will hope for more of the same as he looks to help Inter defend last season’s Scudetto triumph.
