I hope Inzaghi won't treat Dzeko like the way Conte treated Lukaku. He should have been subbed yesterday instead of Lautaro. He was no use in such a match. Lautaro-Correa could cause more threats as we reached the end of the match.
Lets hope that inzaghi sub lautaro just to give him some rest for madrid game...

Very underwhelming target play. He should win more those aerial battles. He was okay in the first half but didn't do much in the second.

Also, Inzaghi cannot keep playing this guy 90mins for too long.

If the aim of the game was to walk around the pitch with your back to the ball he'd be man of the match.

Don't get me wrong he did not play awful but he just does not cut it for me.

Keeping Lukaku on for 90 minutes made sense because he was the key target for most of our attacking plays, but it doesn't seem like Dzeko is like that for Inzaghi. I think the whole idea of keeping him on is to hope he can use some of his experience to sneak past defenders and finish the job later in the game. He also tracks back a lot in defense as well as knows how to get fouled on.

I just hope sooner than later that Inzaghi plays Lautaro + Correa as our starting duo for most games.

He is too old and he would be good as supersub, but fkn Inzaghi insist him to be our primary striker. Idiotic.

you are playing posession game now and hold up play you think lautaro and correa can play possesion game and hold up hell no. if inter would start to learn this tipe of footbsall and learn through balls and 1-2s we could go to being something of real possesion game. i mean seeing all thse crosses is crazy and when they have no aim and worse are toward lautaro who can not score a header unless is straight at his head and goalie s moving away/cverona what do you expect. dzeko is not counter aattach guy he is almost inzaghi/ibra guy play in box or 1-2s get to that point where mid is confortable holding ball and most important knowing what to do with ball when we have it

He can be so damn good as super sub, but inzaghi ruin him and our attacking play by thinking he is fucking our new lukaku and letting him play every fucking game 90 min...

He's been doing this for 2 years. He's 36 (I'm 37) not all of us are genetic freaks like Zlatan. Wasn't a fan of this signing but did many things right. Intelligent on and off the ball. Only lacking physically (father time, comes for us all).

Not expecting Dzeko to be like prime Lukaku but genuinely don’t understand his tactical positioning in the team. He might hold the ball well but he distributes forward, while Lukaku distributes backward. This makes a difference because we are a team of 3-5-2. Often when Dzeko turns and is ready to pass, there’s only Lautaro up front with 4 defenders around him. Inzaghi needs to figure out what he wants and gives the Correa-Lautaro combo a try

I said it at the time and I'll say it again:

1) Dzeko is going to be playing a LOT more than anyone wants
2) We're all going to get sick of this cunt sooner than you know it

4 games into the season and I'm sick of him already - and also the way Inzaghi infuriatingly views HIM, and not Lautaro, as the leader to our attack.

Dzeko has what I call the "solo uselessness". So do many others in this team for that matter. What I mean by that term, is the complete inability to produce anything on their own. I don't expect Dzeko (or any player) to win us games by themselves but too much of this squad is incapable of producing anything outside of the team framework. No one is capable of creating a moment of magic to unlock a tight game. They lack the technique, imagination, skill or pace. If the team isn't working, who will step up and get us across the line with a moment of individual brilliance? Certainly not Dzeko.

You look around the top teams in Europe and you see all of them have an abundance of creative players, tricky dribblers, technical fullbacks, pacy attackers. We just have a bunch of slow-and-steady, "safe", work mules for every position. That's exactly what Dzeko is, the workhorse of our offense (but not when it comes to pressing lul).

Having a functional system is great but naturally it's even better when you have players who can work within the system and do shit on their own as well. We have a shocking lack of these players who can make a difference. Even a team like Milan has a whole bunch of C-grade difference makers and flair players. Us? You put a man on Dzeko and he's fucking done. You put a training cone on the right flank against Darmian or Dumfries and they're completely taken out of the game.

Dzeko is as good as the team is on that day (and sometimes worse.) If the team isn't working (and it sure as fuck wasn't in the 2nd half), then Dzeko is practically useless. Better to haul his ass off and try to shake things up with a Correa or Sanchez. But Inzaghi won't do that because he wants a target man on the pitch at all times.

This is as much a mercato / squad rant as it is a Dzeko rant but on nights like these and against Samp I'm reminded of just how fucking plain our squad is. So bland and boring. Full of jack-of-all trades, master-of-none, safety first options.

We're a 3-5-2 team, no place for lots of creativity.

Essentially you can have a forward and a center midfielder that provide a creative spark, otherwise the system collapses. Not that many players that can be creative and also tick all the necessary boxes for the midfield, like De Bruyne or prime Modric. Nor you can have that many players like Zlatan or Benzema who can play a creative target man role. Actually Dzeko was kind of that person but he's not very dependable nowadays for every aspect. Plays way too deep and we just lose offensively. The whole "drops deep, gets involved" nonsense that FIF adores.

If Eriksen was available and well, we'd be seeing something much better. And we'd probably have enough funds for another box striker to relieve Dzeko in the eyes of the coach as Hakan wouldn't be here.

Dzeko indeed doesn't play where Lukaku played, he's much lower. A bit like the offensive playmaker. Problem is there's only Lautaro attacking. We would need more attacking from others, like the wingbacks.

That's great detecting and is a problem of ours for a while.

When you sign these players (nothing against Dzeko especially as he's past his prime and he's overused here so far), you kinda resign yourself strictly to superb team coaching if you want them to be functional, and nothing outside that frame's on the table. I'd rather we had players that could create more by their own rather than hear someone say "well he was shit there, but under a good coaching guidance he's great", or "when he plays alongside ______ he's great, otherwise he's shit" 1000 times about who plays for us and who we're usually linked to lately.

I appreciate that at least we have some direction, mind.

yesterday game showed how inter can play man handleed real for 60 minutes what more can you ask for better then any inter game last year so if lautaro would know 1-2s like he did for dzeko chance(gk was on fire yesterday) inter would win 3-1 or somethinglike that but luck was not there and move on to next game
