I always liked Dzeko and wanted him to contribute more in the 2nd half and have a hand in a scudetto so i have no qualms on him staying another season to try, he seemed out of gas in a lot of games so him playing a part role could be better.

Still starting and still Contributing.

Hopefully Correa wakes up and lends a hand during the season.

Serie A loves their old strikers - Luca Toni, Di Natale, Ibra, Giroud, Džeko. All of them scored/are scoring goals, the shame is that WE, as a whole, don't really play football that produces a lot of chances to utilize Džeko even better. Or any of our attackers.
Our wingbacks are clumsy on the ball and our midfielders play good on one matchday, and a lot worse on some other. Some of the other teams have us figured out and that sucks.

Ofc Džeko can still be useful, like he showed us in the first months here... I just hope Lukaku and Correa will return soon before we bring Džeko into his early grave.

DZEKO THIRD OLDEST PLAYER TO HIT 100 SERIE A GOALS

Inter striker Edin Dzeko has become the third-oldest player to reach 100 Serie A goals after Goran Pandev and Sergio Pellissier.

The Bosnia international found the net during the first half of today’s trip to Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.
It was his 100th goal in the Italian top flight, achieved at the age of 36 years and 205 days, on his 244th Serie A appearance.

This puts Dzeko third in the chart of oldest players to reach this peak.
When he hit 100 on April 21, 2021, Goran Pandev was aged 37 years and 268 days.
As for Chievo legend Sergio Pellissier, he was 37 years and 243 days when achieving his Serie A Century on December 11, 2016.

Dzeko was a late-comer to Italian football, making his Serie A debut in August 2015, which is also when scoring his first goal for Roma at the age of 29 years, five months and 13 days.

EDIT: Edin after the game

We probably would’ve lost a game like this three or four weeks ago. It wasn’t our best performance, largely thanks to Sassuolo, but it wasn’t easy after so many setbacks in Serie A. We wanted to give a sense of consistency after Barcelona.

“Before the game, we told each other that we shouldn’t be ashamed to sit back and wait every now and then. Too often we would try to press high and get caught on the counter, but we suffered together and I think the victory was deserved.” - Džeko

No real complaints about his performance today, in part due my lower expectations. Still he's a trooper which is more than I can say about the 10 million dollar loan man. Good work.

Did a decent job in attack, was unlucky in two ocassions, first when he hit the crossbar and second when his volley was blocked. Also I don't recall him losing the ball like he usually does. Hope he scores against his favorite customers and seals the qualification for us.

Dzeko literally wins us 3 points. he produced 3 key passes. first one is his through ball to Barella. the second is leading to Laurato's penalty. and the third one is setting up Barella's cross before the goal. very impactful performance.

Dzeko was Inter's super sub yesterday, steadied the ship, contributed to the attack on numerous occasions. Smart sub by Inzaghi albeit late.

What, somebody on FIF giving a lil praise for Džeko and Inzaghi? Thought I was on a wrong forum

Dzeko is a master, anyone who thinks otherwise has no clue about football.

We could argue about his physical condition but when he's fresh legs or well rested, he's deadly. But then again, we completely gassed him out by playing him all the time and ignoring the fact that he's 36 years old, and then expect him to deliver in every match lol.

If we just can get Lukaku fucking fit and playing as a starter, Dzeko will be a great sub striker in the second half of the season. We don't have to watch Correa every match.

He’s basically an offensive regista now. You can’t expect him to run but he’s still good at dropping deep and distributing. I’m afraid he’s going to end up playing too often again this season with the rest of our strikers away at the WC and Correa completely down on his luck and regressing towards the fetal stage.

Dzeko has class and as they say that’s permanent. As I mentioned in Lautaro thread center forwards keep developing until their body lets them down. His body can’t keep up with the amount of minutes we ask him to play. He’s fine as a super sub especially in Serie A. He shouldn’t be starting week in week out and he also probably isn’t going to make a difference in the big CL matches.

Realistically a team like Inter shouldn’t have a roster spot taken up by such a spot player. But when you’re broke and your other fit forward has zero confidence you have to make do.
