Downing for 20m
Vucinic rumored to Spurs for 17m

:palm: I wonder how the fuck are they gonna cope with FFP. Or is this FFP shit just some idealistic theoretical bullcrap that's gonna be tossed out in the end.

I dont know how much liverpool have spent so far as all the transfers have been undisclosed but i do know Standard Chartered pay us 20 mill per year and the recent Warrior shirt deal will pay another 24 mill per year so in theory thats £45 mill for Transfers per year.
And thats before the massive TV rights money available in the EPL.

However Liverpools Managing Director has asked UEFA to check out the City of Manchester Stadium renaming rights deal,
which the owner of ManCity, has given to Man City, through his own Airline company.
Which seems to piss in the face of the UEFA and their FFP rules.

If UEFA dont enforce the rules then they may be opening themselves up to a lawsuit which may bankrupt UEFA itself ???

Well UEFA are stupid if they didnt think about this. I mean Etihad is also owned by the government of Abu Dhabi and it was obvious something like this will happen. I'm just waiting to see what Abrahimovic and MM do.

Its a massive loophole they are exploiting. My cousin is actually very high up in etihad's finance department and talking to him they checked all the regulations to make sure its within the rules.

Its definitly not in the spirit imho but if uefa create such loopholes clubs will exploit it.

Also fact that that company never made any profits..

Arsenal have put pressure on UEFA to study the deal thoroughly and also Liverpool have done the same. I can see many clubs doing the same to put pressure on UEFA..

you actually think they DIDNT think about this.....

its more like they CHOSE to over see it!

This loophole was spotted as soon as FFP came out, yet did nothing to rectify their rules and decisions. Just have a look at annex XI right at the end of the FFP, basically says that even if you break every rule in the rest of the book, if you can prove you are heading in the right direction then you will probably be alowed to continue playing.

Its here to protect the elite....and about as unfair as it can get for others.

The owners come from a family worth 600billion dollars, you think they havent checked prior to doing what they did if it was ok?

Why cant SARAS(when they are profitable again) buy us a stadium in the future and get the money back by giving naming rights Pirelli?

Well they can if they wanted to....and saras has been on the up in recent months. But that really depends on moratti and shareholders, and weather they deam it fit.

As far as I understand, Inter for MM was a place to dump his profits to save taxes ;). I also know that Inter wont really go for any loans from banks because we havent really done it ever. I'm gonna follow SARAS' market valuation now.

But UEFA have fucked up.

Pirelli is more likely to do something like that. Fits more into their profile, being involved in sporting sponsorship as opposed to saras.

If Inter was to get a naming rights deal at San Siro it wouldnt be worth much simply because its already got two names SS & GM and for 99% of people they will continue to call it that so any sponsor will presumably want a discount.
So when i see Eastlands AKA City of Manchester Stadium been renamed i'd expect there to be a reduction.
Then we also have the issue of who owns the Stadium and who should benifit from such a deal ie the TAX PAYERs,who only collect £3million PA for THEIR stadium. apparently its worth £400 million in naming rights alone(over X amount of years?).
Its not like the brand new Emirates Stadium which is actually owned by Arsenal and as only ever been called The Emirates.

But when your countrys wealth can be counted as your own familys personal fortune, you can see why the Shiek wont see it that way and more to the point wont give a fuck what rules are in place because they are used to making the rules.

Yeah but shouldn't these things have been put into the contract when city was granted the right to use the stadium?? If it wasn't it was a major oversight from the city council/whoever owns the stadium.

I dont think there is a problem, etihad is owned by Mansour's half brother and by the UAE government, it is already a shirt sponsor and it can also be a staduim sponsor, which is what happened but people are making a fuss about it because its a large sum of money, people werent complaining about the shirt sponsoring. There are shared interestes but mansour's half brother can do whatever he wants and can sponsor whoever he wants.

Defeats the point of FFP. This is like saying City can spend as much as they want as they have owner who is fully loaded and FFP shouldn't be in place.

Sponsorship should be according to market fair price. Emirates and Allianz Arena gets 1/5th of what City gets for Stadium sponsor. That itself tells this deal is very fishy. And shirt sponsor increased from 4Million to 20 Million.. WTF has city achieved to get those kind of sponsor deals..

Its simple, City owner will pay for Etihad. And also this company has never recorded a profit in its existence..

You can not determine how much someone can sponsor a team for, that's up to the company sponsoring how much they want to spend imho. All restriction you can really put imho is saying the sponsor may not direct connections with the owners of the club but even that will be difficult to enforce.

Yeah but the one who sponsored City is half brother of Sheik.. According to FFP if sponsor is related to owner then it should be according to market price otherwise there is no point in having FFP..

Lol, he got world wide recognition. Even Rooney tweeted about him..

The lad who went to watch Liverpool train in mufc top with my name on the back is a legend.

And how about this, one more time, United banner during Liverpool game...
