idk, I feel if it was anyone else that was in the same position, everyone would be calling for his head. It's not like he did much better than Hodgson and everyone hated Hodgson. But because of his legendary status (which I don't deny btw, I'm not blind) he's untouchable. Perhaps he should have had one more season to try to straighten things out but the owners want results and who knows if Dalglish could do that. I do think he should take some other role in the club though like he did before he became coach again.
YNWALFC do you live in Liverpool or go to many matches? I was there last month and it was pretty damn depressing to have to listen to the fans boo the club more loudly than they were cheering for it earlier. Also what do you think would be able to get Liverpool winning again if not getting a new coach? I know getting new and better players is the obvious answer but tbh that's tied to the whole coach thing as well.
In answer to your first paragraph Hodgson never understood what we are about and he couldnt win against Northampton Town in the League Cup. ( Despite Agger totally ignoring his instructions and basically giving him a goal head start before playing it Woys way) Him shouting "Just hoof it" and "get stuck in" was the limit of his tactical ability.
He slagged of players, alienated a large section of Scandinavian fans with his xenophobic opinions and f*cked off the local support in a attempt to hide his own shortcomings.
He willingly dismantled our team and prepared the ground for a fire sale on behalf of the 2 parasites who were bleeding the club dry at the time.
He was the exact opposite of what a Liverpool Manager should be.
No i dont live in Liverpool but yes i usually get to about 10 games a season.
If i'd of known you was coming over i could of arranged for some cheap/free tickets for you.
As for new players etc we needed cover to replace our most influencial player back in January but FSG
failed to make a move and the second half of the season showed what a mistake that was.
I reckon another year, a bit of tweaking and upgrade a few underperforming players who are the real culprits and we wont of been too far off next season.
Anyway Kenny seems to have faith in FSG so i'll leave them to it and hope someone more qualified than me or John Henry is making these footballing decisions.
But if they turn up with someone like the self proclaimed "Speciall
needs One" or one of those LMA boot lickers they can f*ck right off.
