Before pre season everyone thought it was between Rooney and RVP but then Van Gaal made Fletcher as captain for 2 games.

For me the only candidates are Fletcher, Rooney and RVP. Fletcher has recovered so he will play lot of games, so he would be a good choice. If we sign Vidal then I dont know.

To escape the shitstorm De Gea should be made captain as choosing Rooney or RVP will create lot of news.

Rooney is still not the real Rooney, weird passing, too obvious in his decisions, Chicharito is alone up top (missed one pure chance, but that's all he got this first half), Valencia got injured pretty quick, so Young went to the right and is shit there, Shaw (came on for Valencia) is doing okay, I'm liking his passing, but the constant Liverpool pressing makes him stay back more. Mata is their best player in attack.

United started better, they had the possession just like against Inter, but that penalty fucked their gameplan.

Apart from that rest of your post is spot on. Watching Rooney's passing to RWB is like watching replay over and over again.

One thing is for sure, he is very lethal in final third. His passing is also very good in the final third.
