Anyone see Sigurdsson's free kick goal?.. Herrera went to stand on the line until De Gea told him to go away, and Sigurdsson then scores exactly in that spot

A Swansea dude on the upper left side would not be offside if Herrera still stood at the goal. So DeGea was right telling him to go up.
Fabulous strike though. No surprise why Sigurd has 20/20 free-kick stat in FM :eek:blivious:

I think looking back, they'd take the risk of an offside than conceding a goal.

Also just read Mourinho beat Fergie's record of a 24 game unbeaten streak, currently at 25 (13D, 12W). Fuck me that's a lot of draws.

I do that on FIFA all the time

I think he should've stayed there. Sigurdsson is a beast with freekicks and they would've had more chances to defend that with that Swansea dude up there than a Sigurdsson freekick alone.

Sigurdsson's freekick was magical, no goalkeeper would save that though

Missed the game completely, just checked scores regularly and wasn't surprised we drew the game. Our record at home is poor and we draw lot of games against smaller teams. On top of that we can't field proper team anymore with all CBs injured.

Only silver lining for ManUtd fans is, our team is very hard to beat. We lost only 3 league games and all the games were in the first few games when Jose was still changing his first 11. Since that we went 25 or 26 games unbeaten and that includes games against Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, City, Liverpool (Twice), Everton. It's a good record and something to build upon for the coming season.

Worst part is we will get smashed against Spurs and Arsenal. We don't a fit CB in the team now and players like Shaw, Ibra are injured. So Jose will play weak team in the league to protect them for Europa league. Can see getting few embarrassing results in next few games.

Our injury record is getting worse.

Samlling, Jones, Rojo, Bailly are injured. That's all our CBs.
Shaw is out for the season.
Zlatan is out for the season.
Fosu Mensah who was supposed to add numbers to the midfield is out injured.
Pogba was injured, might be back though
Mata just came back.

To make matters worse, Fellaini is suspended.

You guys will undoubtedly reevaluate the transfer targets this summer in light of these bizarre injuries.

My friend who's a United fan says that prior to this drama the main positions that needed support were the forward line (Griezmann or Neymar) & the backline but I didn't go into detail with him on which part of the defense exactly.

What key positions do you think Mourinho will go after now?

I don't think Neymar is realistic target, it's just agent work for better contracts.

I think we need a striker for sure. We can't reply on 19 year old to lead the line.
Defensive mid - We need a proper defensive mid, we don't have one in the squad.
Center Back - I was happy with defensive options but with Rojo out for so long we have to sign one more CB. With Rojo fit we were so good but now everything changed. We can't rely on smalling and Jones fitness. So we need at least one CB.

These 3 positions are very important to address. Then there are other issues:
Is Mkhitaryan good enough for RW position?
Is Shaw good enough fitness wise to play for ManUtd?

So we need major changes depending on few things which is a big shame after spending so much money in the last few years.

In short, Striker, CB, DM is a must.

I feel like Guardiola is being wasted in EPL. EPL is a physical league while Guardiola thrives on tactics. He would probably feel at home in Serie A.

You serious? Imho pep only knows one way how to play. Dont get me wrong if he manages to make it work like at barca it s one of the best and most attractive brands of football.
But i would not call him a genius in tactics when he really only knows one tactic. Imho he could have been way more effective in the epl if he had changed up his style a bit more.

If Pep stays in EPL with City, I think he is the prime suspect to win it next year.

Definitely. They will need to do well in summer transfer window, though. Their failings mainly due to defenders who do not suit Pep's playing style and thin defensive/central mid options. When the system works, they play some devastating football.
In the latter part of this season, Pep has become more and more conservative with his tactics, reverting similar to Pellegrini's team last season as it seems he is acknowledging the fact that the system he was trying to impose cannot work with these players.
If he manages to assemble the squad to his liking, I will put City as main candidate followed by Mourinho's United and Conte's Chelsea (if he stays).

 For Guardiolas tactic to work, you'll need to have a youth system that learns that way of playing football for their youngsters for atleast 15 years and then also pray to get another Messi, while you have Xavi and Iniesta too.

Don't you have like 10 CB?

I read on talksport.com that City have been banned from signing academy players for 2 seasons, for "tapping up" (I didn't even know this word before) two youngsters.
