That was a terrible ball from Ziyech to Lukaku.

Also, Lukaku should've shot instead of trying to play on the decent chance Chelsea had.

Other than that, domination and a few half-chances for City. And they reckon Serie A is boring....

I was thinking if that was Inter Kaku he would have smashed that at goal.

Terrible effort by Lukaku in that one on one. Much easier save than expected by Ederson.

Just realized that if City wins this tie, it's game over for the league.

January 15th, after 22 games.

I wonder which one will apply this time around:
A) "Best league in the world"
B) "Most competitive league in the world"
C) "Toughest league in the world"
D) "Most entertaining league in the world"

Any takers?

Becoming everything the fan boys laugh at and mock

It's actually not.

They've been going over that cycle since 2000 when they started to think that they have the best league.

They have an argument for every situation they are in. They have arguments for everything that's bad about the other leagues, and they twist the narrative when that occurs in their beloved EPL.

More goals scored in England? Italy/Spain/whomever has a shitty defensive league.
More goals scored in Italy? England has more quality, don't concede as much.

It's funny if you have followed this closely and paid attention to their arguments over the past 2 decades and actually even more.

I don't care much about leagues etc, it's a stupid argument. Why should I defend Serie A, the league is corrupt as fuck? But when I see these douchebags I just love to go on an anti-rant mode, they're so easy to attack because their argument has foundations on quicksand.

But what I do find awkward for PL fans is that despite a long tradition and history, the number of derbies per month, let alone per matchday, is freaking limited.
There are times where we have Inter vs Milan and Roma vs Lazio on the same matchday, and then the next matchday will have Genoa vs Sampdoria and Juventus vs Torino. It's rare to find a matchday in Italy without a proper derby, with the correct sense and not the silly PR nonsense that "other" leagues took and every big game regarding the table is a "derby" (Greece does this a lot, Cyprus even more, there's like 3 teams but 25 games classified as derbies by the media).

Manchester City vs Chelsea is a big game, you can call it a Sugardaddy derby but it's really not a derby.

10 games in the league, not one derby, just one 'big' game.

Serie A has Atalanta vs Inter, which is a Lombardia derby and a relatively big game nowadays, which makes it a relatively weak matchday.

Next week we have Napoli vs Salernitana, huge historic affair for both sets of fans, we have Spezia vs Sampdoria, a Ligurian derby and Milan vs Juventus which isn't really a derby but it's considered a 'classico' in Italy. And of course it's a big game.
The following matchday there's just the Inter vs Milan, but damn...

PL next week has the biggest London derby (Chelsea vs Tottenham) and that's about it. Following matchday? Nothing. Matchday after? Still nothing. The next has Man City vs Spurs which is a relatively big game these days but not a derby (an equivalent of Inter vs Lazio from last week), whereas Italy even has a rivalry with the Verona vs Udinese game from the week after the Madonnina on top of a few big games (Napoli vs Inter and Atalanta vs Juventus), followed by a matchday that has Juventus vs Torino.

It's quite incredible how the PL lacks this, and there's like 6 clubs in London usually in the league so more cross-town games should be expected.

edit: Just realized that there was also Tottenham vs Arsenal but it's postponed, so I missed that. This was actually a highlight week for the PL, with two "big" games, one of them an actual derby.

Irony is how you shit on a league where I'd say easily 90% of these forums are scared shit of Liverpool who are 3rd in said league.
No, they're (assumingly) shitting on a league because of it's lack of competitiveness, seeing as City are about to win their fourth championship in five seasons, when a majority (at least on the internet) of said league's fanbase has decried and mocked the supposed lack of competition of pretty much every other major league in Europe for the last decade. The hyperbole and hypocriticalness is there on full display, but you'll most never likely find anyone who's a fan of the Premier League admit that, at least in the top, there's pretty much no competition - the exact same thing they've belittled other leagues for for 10-15 years.
Now why that is is a different point, but that's not the point of contention.

I think pretty much no one is saying the quality of the Premier League isn't the highest in the world or that it's bad - someone like Brehme would argue that it's overrated, however - but that's what happens when you pour unlimited amounts of money into a product. When bottom teams like Burnley or Bournemouth or Huddersfield or what have you can pay the wages and lure players with transfer fees that sub-top or even top clubs with rich histories or tradition in other countries can only dream of, that's what will naturally happen.
It's not a particularly great achivement or something to applaud, it's just the natural outcome. But that doesn't stop Premier League fans like thinking it's admirable or hailing how great the league is, and looking down on other leagues because of their inability to do the same.

I thinkt that's why people are finding glee in this situation. PRL was built on pits and pits of money and marketing alone, and now an oil state has taking that line of thinking to the extreme, taking a nothing team from nowhere to the top by financial doping and nothing else, and in the process pretty much ruining all forms of competition for the championship.
They've made their bed, and now watchers of other leagues are pointing out they have to lie in it.

3rd, not 10th. The league literally has 3 solid teams, with only of them being elite level.

Chelsea is a capable side, decent depth.
Liverpool can be a lethal side when everyone's fit, but zero depth.
Manchester City's it. But they have no strikers and they're mostly a system team than a team that relies on great players. Without Kevin de Bruyne they're not that scary, despite their depth level.

The real fun begins when you trace the root of that money.
