The thing with De Ligt is he still lives on the hype from his Ajax season and people still see him as a world class cb. But reality is he hasn't been world class ever since. He made many mistakes at Juventus, he was inconsistent at Bayern and he couldn't even start ahead of an error prone Upamecano. Now at Man Utd he has just become a part of Man Utd mess in defence. Not a bad defender by any means and in the right system he could look good but he's definitely not worth the money clubs have spent for him.
