I dont think you realise what it means to be a professional athlete and a football player to be more specific.
I had 3 weeks off per year (2 in the summer and 1 for winter holidays) starting with the age of 13. That money means less than you think when you spend your life between training and matches. I could afford to take all my friends out and pay for everything but I never had time.
As with everything in capitalism, there is supply and demand. As long as football generates that amount of interest/cash salaries will grow as such. A written contract is a written contract and the point players are trying to make is that the amount of games per year and the amount of travelling etc surpassed whats humanly possible.
I have been a professional athlete for about 20 years out of which 10 were as a national level football player. You dont seem to want to listen to arguments opposed to your view of "rich football players" so I'll leave it at that.Still doesn't exuse the fact that footballers are just soft these days and they earn more than what they deserve. If you can't sacrifice things to achieve greatness, might just quit and that's it. It sounds bitchy to me, to complain about lack of free time while being a footballer has more good things than bad things. Yes, time is limited but a football career doesn't last long.
So, for a period of almost a decade or less, you will secure your life, your children and sometimes even grandchildren. This is what life is, sacrifices, difficulties and everything else.
I mean, these players tend to enjoy their trips as well. Might be tiring and also mentally challenging, but there's also good things on it. I'm not sure what level did you play on your career, but professional players DO enjoy more than suffer on their career, and lack of free time is and should not be a problem, except of these whom are just pussies, simple as that.

I said I will leave it at that and you can work on your sarcasm and overall shitty attitude with whoever entertains you.
If Arsenal drops pts today and lose @City then it will. Pep will cruise to the easiest of title imo.City already won the league
What am I supposed to listen? That football players aren't being enough for their job or what? Because my point was nothing else than their salary being out of this world and that their job doesn't justify the money they generate.
Btw, couldy you tell more about your footballing career? Because I'm interested to know about your lack of free time to enjoy and have fun with family, friends and so on.
Elaborate more on that point which "surpasses what's humanly possible" please.
You're worth what you provide. Footballers generate billions of dollars in revenue. Your conclusion has no basis other than you, personally, don't like the idea of someone being paid a lot to play a game.
I have many Arsenal friends whose misery brings me a lot of joy in these occasionsGenuinely unsure why people bother with this garbage.
