You telling me the Italian team, with players that all play in pretty damn good clubs, can't defeat this team, cause they are not good enough? Please name me 3 clubs from those club badges, other than Napoli.... Italian C team should be able to win these kind of matches. No excuse... Congrats to Macedonia, they fought well and deserve the point, but an Italian team, that is in a big need of win, should win this, or at least dominate like crazy... I just noticed, these guys started a player that has no club. lol Italy and Spalletti.

The guy that on the list doesn't have a badge of a club, (Askovski) plays for Lamia, in the Greek first league.

Greece 2004...

If football worked like this, just throwing the strongest collection of 11 players possible, every CL would be won by City/PSG, without exception. It does correlate but not as strongly as you're making it out to be. And as Besnik said - there are no weak teams anymore. Same as Inter vs. Bologna, for example. They managed to beat us twice out of our three last meetings.

I don't see us winning today so there is a good chance that italy will not qualify for Euro 2024. Trubin is good, probably even better then the Macedonia GK that made 2-3 good saves. Sure we were also a litle unlucky against Macedonia. But we didnt made much danger, our plan was too simple. Something needs to change or it's game over. Ucraine will also score once they will get a chance, our defence is a fcking joke, Donnarumma too.

@IM21, do you even realize that everyone can play football these days? Just because you don't own high-profile players doesn't automatically means you're off. There's so many teams whom pulled miracles just by having a strong group and being tactically strict in their duties.

You have many examples just in recent times how Kazakhstan managed to comeback against Denmark while being down 2-0 in first half. Won spectacularly 3-2 in the end. Exact scenario happened with Moldava against Poland.

My point is that even those "small" teams can cause damage to top teams as long as they put in real effort and stay disciplined to their game. No disrespect to anyone but if you're judging teams based on their status or players then you're not up to date with football these day.
sure, a small team, with not that many big names, can make a surprise and draw, or even win against a bigger team. The problem, as mentioned by pupivn, is that this happened to Italy now 3 times in a row vs Macedonia... And even if the Italian players are not as great as in previous years, they should still play better football. I just don't see them doing that with Spalletti.

Just to add that besides Napoli, other players play for Rayo Vallecano, Burnley, Paderborn, Dinamo Zagreb, Trabzonspor, Aberdeen, Grasshopper etc. So while I agree that Italy "should" in theory beat these lesser football national teams, this is a very difficult group, apart from maybe Malta to play against.

Italy should take their business seriously if they don't want to miss out on the Euros and beat Ukraine tonight.

Nice to see different line-up without Immobile and Politano, don't know if it will result in a win but appeciate the intent. Forza Italia!
