yep.

Mark my words guys, Drogba is an important part in the team. He defends well and i think he just needs time to settle in EPL.

I mean he scored about 12('adapting' season), next season he can only do better right? If he plays the same time.

Yes his good enough to be the striker for the EPL cup, but will he do it for them in Europe. Thats the question.

He played really well in France, specially in his first season with Marseille.

It could be the new league effect, but I am afraid he won't adapt to the random and pacy nature of EPL. Many strikers (specially south american) struggle in EPL due to that nature, specially if they are accustomed to a structured league (Forlan, Crespo, Angel).

Hey i agree with u on the other players, but do u know how much goals Angel scored in season 2003/2004 ;) it was an amazing season for him. simple as that. last season, ALL of Aston Villa went bad, they have a thin squad. He has defitely adapted.

From the games I saw him, he was really still struggling, he was missing easy chances. And he is almost 30 as well, I doubt he will improve anymore.

Yeah I think Drogba will bouce back next season. He's too good of a player too struggle that bad for another season. When Marseille made that UEFA Cup run two years back, he was superb though he did struggle in the Final.

Owen PLUS Solari PLUS £20m FOR Lamps

Taken from News of the world [This same story was at Gazzetta as well]

REAL MADRID have sensationally offered Chelsea £20million PLUS Michael Owen and Argentinian midfielder Santiago Solari for Footballer of the Year Frank Lampard.

The bid clearly indicates that Owen has no future with the Spanish giants. Lampard's agent Steve Kutner confirmed: "It's very flattering for Frank to be wanted by a club as big as Real Madrid.

"But Frank has just participated in an incredible season at Chelsea and so long as they continue to want him, he'll be giving everything he can to help them win more and more trophies."

Madrid's move for Lampard, flatly rejected by Chelsea, underlines how the England ace has become one of the greatest midfielders in the world since his £11m switch to Stamford Bridge from West Ham.

He was outstanding as Jose Mourinho's men claimed the title for the first time in 50 years and, fittingly, it was his brace of goals at Bolton that clinched the historic triumph in Chelsea's centenary year.

Real wanted to up his wages from £80,000 to £90,000 a week and grant him a lucrative image rights package so he could also cash in on his growing fame around the world.

But while the news is flattering for Lampard, it is devastating for Owen, who moved to Madrid from Liverpool only last August for £8m.

Owen scored 13 goals in 20 league games, even though he was a substitute in 15 of them.

Solari is also surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.

Sport of the World revealed last week that Owen told pals he wants to play for Manchester United.

Chelsea aren't going to sell Lampard, he is the only reason why they went so far in the CL and are trying to mark themselves as not a "selling" team, ala AC Milan.

Actually, Fiorentina didn't want either, or more correctly, Prandelli didn't want either players.

He wants to get Pizarro and Luca Toni.

True, but now they are trying to get rid of the players and pay nothing. The 3M or so they 'saved' will go toward buying the players Prandelli wanted.

I just wonder what's gonna happen to Miccoli and Maresca, since they clearly stated they hate Gobbi :D

Viola didn't need either player anyways. Miccoli is good but they'll have Bojinov and Pazzini starting most games. Maresca wasn't very good from what I heard. Losing Obodo was the biggest loss.

well isnt it obvious?? they're smart. They will use both of them to get Cassano. And if not Cassano, then somebody like Chivu or Miguel etc.. You know what i mean.

Moggi knows whts up. I didnt know Frogs could think.

Real Madrid's possible new recruit is rumoured to be none other than former AC Milan player Pablo Garcia and how happy I am. They always make fun of us saying that we are known to get rid of star players, so on. But Milan's list is also not short - Vieira, P.Garcia and there are lots. I am not saying that we didn't make those kinda blunders BUT good to know that they also have done it. :D

:star:

=======================

It's gonna be a long transfer saga:

(1) Gilardino's move to Milan or might Parma's new owner keep him.
(2) Cassano's Juventus move.
(3) Samuel to Inter, hopefully it will happen in the next few days.
(4) Who will Chelsea sign (striker) - Owen ??
(5) Real Madrid's defenders ??
(6) If Parma's new owner got some good $$, then expect some good moves to Parma.
(7) Fiorentina are also gonna make some transfer moves, especially after they lost Obodo, Chiellini, Miccoli.
(8) Cassano saga might put a big question mark over Trezeguet/Del Piero/Mutu/Chiellini's transfers.

As usual, I love transfer period. Lets just hope that Inter will make the best moves. :proud:

;)

You forgot Desailly, one of the best defenders ever. Also, Davids, Robbie Ayala (again, one of the best defenders ever), Kluivert, Javi Moreno (Who moved from Alaves to Milan in 02 and was top scorer and got destroyed forever) and they took Rivaldo in his peak, and destroyed him as well.
