Coentrao hasn't been a top class fullback in 2 seasons.

People here expecting him to be the player they have seen in highlight reels or on Mourinho's Real teams are going to be severely disappointed if we do indeed sign him.

Definitely. He will be an improvement, if he reaches his top form he can be MASSIVE improvement. But don't expect 'top class' fullback from the start. he will need time. Maybe more than 6 months

he had a very average world cup as did portugal in general. he was hurt around that time also. Like the poster above, he's been average for 2 seasons now. Not really all that much of an improvement over what we have now.

I know Coentrão can cross but I bet Mancini's pet Kolarov is better at defending. +he reportedly earns 4m/season!
