Well, we didn't loan him. We sold him with a option to buy back, but I guess that is sort of like a loan

and yes, yes it was dumb

I would generally ignore any of my posts for the next few hours to be honest.

Yep, loaning Puscas to the biggest club in Serie B probably wasn't wise either. Same with Camara.

Italy is so frustrating in general when it comes to youth development. Clubs will only play and develop talent if they own them, which I believe is the main reason we did the Bonazzoli deal the way we did. However, half the time that doesn't even work. Teams just refuse to play young talent until they're damn near 22 with little top flight experience and their development has stagnated. Oh but "now they're mature". Give me a fucking break, that's why there's so few young Italians that look like they have the potential to be world class, and most the ones making it into the big clubs end up 2nd choice.

There is definitely a trend in Italy of looking back rather than forward. I think things in Italian football often take too long to change and move forward. Whether it's with stadium infrastructure, or with attitude towards young players, or whatever. Once upon a time it was definitely reasonable and generally the right thing to do to bring through young players slowly but surely. However, nowadays it seems like if young players aren't continually exposed to top level football from a young age that their development stagnates, and they get bypassed by players that do get exposed to top level football regularly. I'm sure things in Italy will eventually get with the times, but like usual it would probably have been at least a few years too late.

You're both right but I don't think it's very relevant. Bonazzoli and Puscas not getting any game time is more about our idiocy than Italy's idiocy. Can't expect Bonazzoli to start over Eder, Muriel at Samp or Puscas to start over De Luca, Sansone at Bari, and that's a brutal lack of foresight.

What's funny is, our Primavera midfielder last season, Michele Rocca, was sold to Samp and already got minutes before Bonazzoli.

So he's going to Juve?

If Samp accepts their offer, Yes, unless we decide to match their offer (we could get him back).
If we decide not to match their offer, we get 30% of the price Juve gonna pay Samp.

Former Inter youngster Federico Bonazzoli has recently being linked with a move away from Sampdoria to Juventus. La Gazzetta Dello Sport have confirmed Old lady’s interest in Inter’s youth product Bonazzoli. Inter have a buy back option for the Sampdoria player, but are unlikely to excersize it. Marotta and Paratici have opened negotiations with Sampdoria. Inter would earn 30% of any transfer fee between the two clubs.

Juve are on a spending spree, getting all the promising Italian talents there are. Sensi, Mandragora now Bonazzoli...

Bonazzoli has played only 69 minutes this season. How come Juve want to sign him?! Based on what?!

I'm guessing Juve are doing this to force us to buy Bonazzoli back so we would have less money for important transfers.

The same way Juve have influence over Sassuolo with Berardi, we have influence over Samp with Bonazzoli. We should try and somehow go after Berardi. If they want Bonazzoli, they have to give us Berardi.

Honestly I think he will be a pain in the ass for us in the future if he joins Juventus. The plan for them is probably to sign Berardi and loan Bonazzoli out to Sassuolo as a substitute.

Don't forget that he is only 18 years old and therefore has a lot of time to develop.

If they sign Bonazzoli he'll be at Sassuolo in no time and getting decent minutes too. He'll be more of the long term Zaza replacement then Berardi. I think he needs to leave Samp, either way for more playing time. If we lost him though that would be a huge smack in the face, especially when we have another 18 year old in our squad getting essentially equal minutes with less talent.
