Too slow and not enough stamina? A LB, maybe, but LWB is more demanding. That’s my impression.
That's the exact reason. At the start of last season simone did use him as a lwb but he struggled there. He has been solid at lcb.
Best position would be lb but we don't use a back 4.

He struggled at LWB but was solid at LCB? Wasn’t it the exact opposite?

He wasn't solid in any position. He had an ok season, but except a few occasions he wasn't that impressive. He's a bit soft for my liking, and for the positions he plays he needs to be a lot more physical and aggressive.

Good at attacking. Worst at defending. Double edged sword. Worst against any experienced striker.

Dimarco never be my choice at LCB. I prefer get someone can defend. Thats the point we have defender.

In Inzaghi's system the LCB is the one who attacks. In few games in the latter part of the seaosn he was actually very good in that position. Obviously he cannot mark tall strikers at all but that's not the point of playing him. His position is LCB but the role is something completely different to what one expects from a defender.

Even in Inzaghi's system lcb also needs to defend. We don't have the ball throughout the whole game.

Of course defender needs to defend. But the role consists a lot of freedom to attack and Dimarco excels in that. Dimarco will never be a starter for us, his role will be a special addition you bring in from the bench.

He only struggled against tall attackers. Rest of the time he was fine.

Then Dimarco Will cost US point whenever Bastoni out. In other hand D'ambro better cause he can defend.

Dimarco not exist when defend.. even Perisic contribute more than him at defend.

We conceded goal against Arnautovic because of Dimarco's lack of defending ability (pure height being the problem there). Do you remember any other case we conceded goal or had problems because Dimarco was there?

I remember key match against Napoli away and everyone feared as Bastoni was out. Dimarco performed very well and we had no problems with having him there.

We just need to adjust our game accordingly and NOT put Dimarco to defend against taller forwards.

Politano injured when Napoli match. The subs is not good as him.. i am sure the result Will different if politano play.

Dimarco is very very helped by Perisic defending. I don't know if Gosens can help him later.

Did we become the best defending team in Serie-A without Dimarco last season?

I think Dimarco is going to have a lot more work to do with Gosens in front of him than Perisic. Perisic was great because not only was he a ball carrier and active in our build up, but he also tracked back and was often last man at the far post.

The only time I can really remember him blowing a coverage was against Scamacca when he stopped tracking and tried to play offsides trap. Other than that he was always there. Whether or not Gosens will be that consistent defensively is still yet to be proven.

I suspect from a practical perspective, we use Dimarco when we are less concerned about attacking threats - e.g. lower level opposition or teams with poor attacks.

How about when Bastoni injured or suspended? Can we play Dimarco against Juve or Milan? One good counter then we done.

Now we cant sure Bastoni stay this season. That LCB position must be the most worrying position right now .

thats pretty much the risk we have to run with our current squad - you can make the same argument for Broz, Lautaro, Gosens, Barella, Skriniar, etc

Who is the closest to Bastoni level that we can afford?

Might be true, which tells more about our financial situation than Acerbi's level vs Bastoni.
