FI members in Rome?

Hi all! I'm currently in Rome, and will be living here for the next 5 months. I'm here on a international student exchange program from Singapore, and I'll be attending LUISS here in Rome this semester. It's my second day here now, and still getting used to the weather.

So, I was wondering, are there any FI members living in Rome, or Italy in general? I'll probably be heading to Milan to watch a match or two, depending on my budget, so would love to hear from any Italian FI members. Would be great to meet up and catch a few pointers from locals about living in Rome/Italy.

I'm have a home about 1 hour outside of Roma, (it's in the lower part of Lazio, towards the ocean). So yeah, I'm pretty close to you. Even if you can't get to Milano for a game, Roma tickets should become easier to get now that they're starting to suck.

I'm definitely planning to watch a Roma/Lazio match at the Olimpico. I live near the Olimpico (just across the river for anyone who knows), and right beside the Lazio official shop. There was a huge mass of people outside the Lazio shop when I arrived so I presume they must be queueing for the derby tickets. Not sure if I still can get them.

And, does anyone know the best the way to get Inter match tickets, in Rome especially?

Scutzon, I am regularly attending games in Milan so if every you come up there we could meet up My next scheduled game is Inter-Genoa 6 March @ 3pm.

For the tickets, the best way to get them is to go to your local BPM (Banca Popolare di Milano) if ever there's one around... Otherwise Inter.it or Viagogo.it... for lots of games you can even buy the ticket at the stadium just before the game...

For the trains... it depends... With the FrecciaRossa (high speed train), it takes around 3,5 hours sometimes 30mins less sometimes 30mins more depending on what time of the day you're traveling. To come back after games I don't think it's possible when the game is @ 8.45pm but for other schedules, sure you can.

For Lazio and Fiorentina games, it shouldn't be difficult to find tickets, at least for the Fiorentina one. But, it depends on where we stand in the rankings when those games come... Maybe for Lazio it could be more difficult since Inter & Lazio fans are friends, maybe a lot of laziali will want to come to Milan. And, if the "Osservatorio" is moronic again, they might forbid the selling of tickets to people who are residents of Lazio area... We will know more closer to the games and I will be attending Lazio's game as well

I've kinda narrowed it down as to which matches I'm thinking of going. I'm considering going to watch the home games against either Lazio (23 Apr), Fiorentina (8 May). I'm also thinking of going down to watch both legs of the Coppa Italia against Roma, depending on whether I can get tickets. But I'm kinda on a tight budget, so I might only be able to watch one home game, although I will try scrimp and save so I can watch two matches. I was thinking of watching the Lazio home match and the first leg of the Coppa Italia at the San Siro since they are only 3 days away, granted that there are no changes in scheduling (which I think will probably happen). But the plan is all dependent on whether I can get tickets for those matches, so yeah.

I found a list of places where I can get Inter home tickets in Rome, but any idea how/when they will announce when they start the sale of tickets?

The Inter-Lazio game should stay where it is because it's during Easter weekend so it should stay on the Saturday.

To know when the tickets start selling, you have to check the official website and it's usually 1 week prior the game

Thanks lots again Nathy. One last question though: is there any way I can watch the Inter team train at the Appiano Gentile training ground? Are all training sessions open to public? Or is there any procedure to visit the training ground and watch the training?

Anyways, I just bought tickets to the Lazio-Palermo game this Sunday at the Olimpico. It'll be the first match experience here in Roma, so it should be fun.

Well, as far as I know (never been there), it's the opposite: all training sessions are closed to the public unless stated it is open... You can check here for information: http://www.inter.it/aas/squadra/agenda?L=it And beware, it's quite complicated to go there without a car. From Milan, you have to take the train to Varese. Then in Varese you have to take a bus that goes direction Appiano Gentile and kindly ask the driver to drop you as close as he can from the village but then it's another 20mins walk I think...

A friend of mine went there twice, he's the webmaster of the French forum and had a contact with our former physical coach Claudio Gaudino so the first time he did like I said and the second time, Gaudino picked him up in Milan.

It's difficult, it's why I've never been there yet

Thanks a lot Nathy! You've been a wonderful help. Considering how difficult it is to go to Appiano Gentile, I might settle on watching Inter matches at the San Siro then. I'll update you once I get my hands on match tickets and confirm everything, so hopefully I'll be in Milan late April/early May.

I remember the day I wanted to go to Appiano Gentile. It was 25/11/2008, one day before the home game against Panathanaikos (we lost 1-0).
We decided to go to Como that day, so we would can go to Appiano that afternoon. We took a bus from Como to Appiano (I think the bus number was 40), It took around 40 minutes, we arrived to Appiano, we asked people how to go to the training center, we saw graffiti of "25-05-2005 GRAZIE LIVERPOOL" and some flags of Inter. Everytime we asked someone, he said us "Uno Kilometro", finally some kilometers before, my mom could'nt continue and the hour of the last bus to Como was getting close.
Like a year after, I check that and revealed that in that day the was open to public.

So, I had a bad ending, but from that I just reccomend you to find a taxi/whatever to the training center because it take a long time of walking (for me it was 30 minutes from what I remember, and we did'nt arrive!).
