I think Klaasen fits the bill as both a box to box midfielder and a "forward" option in case we go for a 3-5-1-1 situation.

1+1 would have been better with club deciding on the option. I guess we just wanted to get the guy and not spend any time negotiating on that. Because we need the two years for the Growth Decree. If we had the option and the guy absolutely sucked, we would have just paid the extra taxes instead of using the option.

So now we need to hope he doesn't suck. To me it seems Inzaghi doesn't trust Sensi one bit and he wants this kind of experienced midfielder you can throw in if there are injuries etc (like Mhki).

This is just standard Marotta. Guy is still using the same scout list from 2017 which is why we're constantly signing or pursuing these targets like Vidal, Kolarov, Sanchez (x2), Dzeko, Mkhitaryan, Acerbi, Cuadrado etc. Wouldn't be surprised to see Pjanic links soon.

Lack of trust on Asllani and Sensi is evident. I'm still wondering what's the plan for regista role when Calhanoglu is out.

It isn't everything just about salary. Gagliardini had the lowest salary in the squad. This still didn't stop anyone from shitting on him whenever he was on the pitch. Performance on the pitch also matters.

I don't see any correlation between my post and yours. People just express their opinions. They don't do it because they expect their opinions to matter and affect club decisions. They just want to share their thoughts on their favorite clubs matters. Else there's no point discussing football in the first place.

Nobody cares about fans opinions (even though Marotta reads everything). Ownership, management and coach will just do whatever they have decided to. Point was low salary won't save Klaassen (or any player for that matter) from criticism if he doesn't perform on the pitch.
