So fucking annoying we lost Locatelli for only €35M, and another gem Tomiyasu went to Arsenal for basically nothing (€18M).
Don't know why people overrate Tomiyasu so much. He is a Nagatomo of defenders, mediocre at best.

Milan seems only focusing on short-term young talent for resale than outgoing transfer.
However, their RB seems stacked and they seem unable to find an upgrade for that RW role. They did well to sign various positions for backup, like the latest for AM role.

Where is Douglas Costa in the "out" section?
He was IN & OUT with loans, I guess editors did not even bother mentioning him lol. juBentus wasted €40m and a very high salary for a player nobody wants to buy, I guess they`ll just keep loaning him out until the end of his contract.

So basically sassuolos DS took the summer off...
Good observation. Sassuolo spent most on Traore to make the move permanent, here is list of most notable arrivals:

Salcedo is close to Spezia and Colidio close to Austria Wien.
Any news about Colidio deal? He is still listed on our official website.

When is the market closing in Austria?

Austria transfer window closed last night. There were rumours Colidio would join Austria on loan with option to buy but there's nothing official yet. Even Salcedo move to Spezia isn't official. We only know it happened because his contract has been deposited to Serie A. A bit more patience and we will know for sure.

I think Cafe showed that we literally dont have space in the squadd without offloading someone first.

Zaccagni for 7m was a steal. At that price, it would have even made sense to buy him and keep him out on loan for 1 season if we didn't have "space". Next summer when we lose Vidal and/or sell Vecino, we have a cheap replacement ready. Plus Eriksen and Sensi may never properly recover.

Even if we never need him, Zaccagni is one good season away from being worth 3 or 4 times as much. And if he makes the World Cup squad, maybe even more. Such bargains don't come often. It would have saved us a lot of money soon enough. Lazio did a good deal here.

Mods, can someone unlock the other threads please?

I would give our mercato 6. The directors did the best they could with available funds to replace Hakimi, Lukaku and Eriksen but they didn't address the issue with Handa's heir, they did nothing to improve the squad depth in defence and they failed to offload deadwood. Vecino and Gagliardini are still here, Dalbert and Lazaro are expected to return next summer and even Nainggolan and Joao Mario left the club with golden handshakes.

I'm surprising myself with my dad-like understanding of his pathetic child and I'll give it a 7.

Lazio typo ruined Kostic deal with Eintracht Frankfurt

  • No more fax machine transfers can cause this:
  • There are reports that Lazio could’ve signed Filip Kostic from Eintracht Frankfurt, if not for a typo in the email when sending their offer.
  • The Serbia international had long been on their radar and seemingly agreed personal terms months ago, but the Biancocelesti were unable to work out a transfer fee with his club.
  • According to these numerous reports, the move collapsed because Lazio sent an email to the wrong address.
  • Some had suggested the Bundesliga outfit intentionally gave an incorrect email to scupper the deal, but Eintracht Frankfurt assured Goal.com and others that it was Lazio who made a typo in the address.
  • It seems that the Aquile wrote ‘Franfurt’ rather than ‘Frankfurt’ in the email address.
  • “I don’t want to talk about it, there’s no point now,” Lazio director of sport Igli Tare told Goal.com. “We wanted to sign Kostic, but that’s in the past now. We wish the best to the player and Eintracht Frankfurt.”
  • Meanwhile, angry Lazio fans furious over the relative lack of transfer activity this summer sent threatening and insulting messages to Tare’s son, Etienne, who plays for the club’s Primavera youth team. He complained via Instagram that he had received anything from insults to death threats.

A 6 is probably fair. Vlahovic would have been a nice replacement for Rom but it was impossible. Commisso was not selling him this summer. I like our group of forwards though. We don’t have a dominant striker but there’s better quantity and I think Lautaro is ready to take the next step.

Getting rid of deadwood players is hard. Juve, Madrid and Barca have the same kinda issues with high wage players that no one wants or can afford.

The devastating loss was Hakimi. Very few, if any fullbacks can bring what he can to the table. Our CB depth is worrying too. We’re one injury away from Dumbo starting games.

Says a lot about Serie A (and pretty much all non-EPL, non-moneybags clubs). Inter sell arguably their 2 best players and replace them with clear downgrades. Milan watch 2 key players walk for nothing and spent a significant amount of money to basically maintain the same 'meh' level of squad as last year. And these were the best mercatos in the league.

There were five transfers that collapsed on deadline day in Italy, as Miralem Pjanic, Sergio Oliviera, Riccardo Orsolini, Mattia Destro and Yann Karamoh were left empty-handed.

The deadline has now passed, so clubs can only sign up free agents to improve their squads ahead of the January transfer window.

There were numerous deals done, but also some near misses that just failed to get over the line.

1. The biggest of these was probably Pjanic, who is now stuck at Barcelona and frozen out of the squad by coach Ronald Koeman.
There are still some options for Pjanic, such as moves to Qatar or Russia, whose transfer windows are still open.
He had been desperate to reunite with Juventus and Max Allegri, but the Bianconeri pulled out because they would not pay the Bosnian’s full salary during the loan period.
It’s widely reported that Allegri is furious with the club hierarchy for not giving him the midfield reinforcements he was looking for, bringing in only Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo after weeks of tense negotiations.

2. Elsewhere, there were reports in Portugal that Roma were close to Sergio Oliviera, but needed to sell one of their current midfielders first to make way for the FC Porto player.
Steven Nzonzi was the first choice, but Giallorossi director of sport Tiago Pinto confirmed today in a press conference that some players had refused all proposals put to them.

3. The massive swap deal between Spezia and Genoa had been in full swing when Grifone President Enrico Preziosi suddenly pulled the plug.
Kevin Agudelo did eventually move to Spezia on loan, but Destro remained at Marassi and M’Bala Nzola stayed at the Stadio Picco.

4. Fiorentina were very active through to the final day of trading, hoping to sell Sofyan Amrabat to Torino and bring in Orsolini from Bologna.
However, neither of the moves materialised and both players stayed at their current clubs.

5. Finally, Parma winger Karamoh thought his loan with option to buy with Sheffield United was a done deal, signing the paperwork and all terms agreed.
Unfortunately for him, the former Inter man was unable to obtain a work permit to join an English club.

If we made those signings without sales, id say it was like 8. But with the sales, 5 at most, maybe 6, as overall transfer market grade.
That's how it looks now, but let them play and see how it goes. Might be 2, might be 10.

There is still an interesting list we could sign, as free transfers are allowed:

You would be surprised by the amount of former "big" names are still free, just after a couple of years.

The fall from grace for Max Meyer is really sad. 3 years ago he was considered one of the hottest Bundesliga prospects and now he's without a club at the age of 25. It's astonishing what a bad manager and a poor career choice can do to a player's career.

And this deal is apparently 500k for the loan and 3.5m€ for obligation to buy.

While Keita goes to Cagliari for 0€ transfer fee and Monaco will have % of resale.

Good that Salcedo went to Spezia after Keita-Cagliari deal but Spezia signed our boy Rey Manaj from Barcelona today.
Rey Manaj - never heard of him, worth keeping an eye out i suppose?
