They are pretty poor. Italiano is probably too idealistic with his attacking football, making problems for his defending game in the process.

That fucker Babacar always turned into God mode whenever he played against us. Also a Vecino doppietta in that match who had 0 Serie A goals before the match.

I'm convinced that was the sole reason we decided to pay 25M for Vecino. Nothing quite screamed peak Banter like spending 30 million to reassemble Fiorentina's midfield at our club.

Acerbi has been flawless to be honest

Bastoni as LCB had a way tougher tasks compared to Acerbi who plays as a sweeper. We were superior with Perisic as LWB because did almost everything, both defensively and offensively, so we had too much of luxury with him compared to Di Marco who is quite vulnerable.

My point is that Acerbi usually has a slightly easier task in the middle because he has two great CB's aside of him, meanwhile both of Bastoni and Skriniar have rather poor support by Di Marco and Dumfries from the flanks. Darmian is defensively superior to Dumfries but he hasnt played that much compared to the lattest one. So the biggest reason we are struggling defensively is because we are missing a Perisic - Darmian duo as wingbacks.

The middle one in the 3-men CB is always a dirigent to the other two and a kind of gives orders and dictates the tempo in a slight different way than LCB or RCB, and other than last game, Acerbi has played instead of de Vrij in the middle though.
