Done the corner hack, thanks matrix, it's great.

Won the league in my first season pretty easy. Second season and I'm undefeated in the league so far, finished second in CL group to Liverpool, just hit the break for the world Cup.

Lautaro and de vrij both wanted to leave, handanovic and dzeko retired the cunts after my first season. Bought vlahovic who is a beast to replace lautaro.

Hakan is really good as well for some reason, he scores so many goals as a mezzela for me.

Time to end my Inter Milan Career at end of this season me thinks, never thought I'd say this but it's far to easy...

Coventry City save incoming, my Beta to now save was Italy playable only and view-only some top leagues.

Time to see Newcastle do their thing I suppose, I'll get the Sky Blues up their rocking.

Is it worth buying? I mean I'm sure i'll probably end up buying as I've been playing and buying every edition since 00/01, but lately it feels like I buy the game because it's a habit more than something I look forward to buying. So is it worth it?

If it's a force of habit, it's up to you to decide if you want to cut it off or keep dosing.

For me, it's the last version of the game I pre-order for sure and probably the last ever that I buy. Never paying full price for it again.

I didn't buy FM21, the price is still at full for some odd reason. When or if they drop it to 10 euros I will buy it just for the sake of saving the streak, but the game isn't getting any better.

The Editor this year is completely broken. Almost all values you can edit cause problems as they don't get accepted and they delete older entries. Complete amateur job. And as usual the default country rules are broken, so even if you just verify their own rules it will say there are issues

This is the first FM in a few season where you can see obvious changes to upgrade the game, it always feels similar for people who play it every season but it always improves wether slightly or a lot, this season its a lot in my opinion.

I highly reccomend purchasing it, I am absolutely loving this version of FM the updates they have put in are fantastic.

What's exactly the improvement?

The Data Hub probably adds some appeal, but the match interface is downgraded, the UI is all over the place and you cannot really focus somewhere, it's like you're searching for clues, the media and board interaction is as annoying as ever and the transfer system is still broken, they have never figured out how FFP and player book values work so you see teams buying players for 40m and selling them for 3m the next summer, you never see a change in status quo unless a sugar daddy appears out of nowhere, the match engine is decent but there are far too many flaws and exploits every year, tactics are quite irrelevant as the game will always do the same things over and over again, based on what the developers think football is supposed to be played [which has changed gradually as the game in England by the top teams has changed, so that's who they're emulating].

I mean, I want to root for the guys, but having a monopoly for almost 30 years - Eidos attempt to do something was non-existent - has hurt them. And on top of everything, half of the shit they introduce is to show wokeness in the media and stay relevant in social circles. Not a fan of their direction in the last 10 years. FM12 was the last great game they had, FM16 and FM17 were pleasant additions, but I haven't really seen much improvement since then. They keep adding irrelevant things and reducing the importance of game experience and they don't build on what their users like.

I'm sorry, but nobody wants to see "players coming out of the closet", LGBT flags in stadiums (which isn't even a thing except at Arsenal maybe), and now while I welcome their idea for women's football to be added, it's mostly another woke PR move as they know that it won't get them more players but simply more media exposure. These things do not add to the gaming experience, they just cause controversy and it sells on the media.

It's an addictive game and they're gambling on people getting hooked and word of mouth to get more people involved. And it's working for them, but once proper competition kicks in they'll fold.

Data Hub, Deadline Day, Agent interaction, Staff meetings are 4 features I really enjoy and are massively improved or new.

LGBT I haven't seen in the game for about 2 seasons I think and if it is in this game who the fuck cares, just click space bar and move onto your next inbox item its hardly going to affect your gameplay or experience now is it. Match interface is actually updated and more realistic, offsides have been fixed and VAR has been fixed. The sale of players is actually far better now due to the boardroom stepping in if you bid to much or release for to low.. have you not seen this feature?

The monopoly or so I don't pay attention to but around 2004? They changed from Champ to Footy manager as beautiful games studios bought the rights to the name Champ Manager and tried to become the #1 (dates may be wrong but story true).. Miles and his team for what 25 years or so now showed you don't need to hold onto a name to have a superior game.

Your argument seems to steer across that you don't like it, which is totally fine mate, it is not for everyone, just like Inter.

Agent interaction is a good addition but the execution isn't great.

Deadline day is annoying. It's not a thing in most countries and at least they didn't add it everywhere but only in a few top leagues. But it's only a thing in England (maybe Scotland, too?). Nobody else cares about the deadline day. At Inter we used to care because it was our thing, but there was generally no hype for the deadline day. Any hype you see in recent years is a gimmick copied from the EPL by the media.

Staff meetings is another thing that has bad execution, despite being a good idea. After a while they become chores, this is their problem. And you start automating everything.

The issue is not that they're adding stuff people don't like, not everyone is going to like everything. It's about adding useless stuff to score morality points when they could have used those resources to genuinely improve the game. Also, playing a derby with Juventus and seeing LGBT flags around the stadium rather than Inter colours is getting a tad annoying, video game or not. Especially since they pretend it's a simulation experience, it feels like something else. I'm pretty sure they will add LGBTQ+ (did I miss anything?) managers and staff in the future to score more wokeness points, before fixing some other simple things in the game that need tweaking or fixing for 10 years now.

The existence of CM by Eidos after the split caused them to develop the 3D engine, it forced them to polish player attributes, they improved the UI to excellent standards which they still haven't really changed that much until last year iirc from what I glimpsed in the demo, so it's not this year's changes. They are complacent and they pretend they're standing on a pedestal as if they're the "football guys" of the computing world. They need to be shaken up by competition, otherwise the game will keep deteriorating and users will be pleased with features and additions they'll not be using or will eventually be turning off.

I've had to stop. Holy shit I've never seen time disappear like it. Always say "one more game", then something happens, next thing it's like 3am and my gf is pissed. Lol

Logged something like 50 hours in a week after getting it, have had to put it down for a few days.

Brehme, what's full price? I picked it up on release day for something like £20

It's 55 euros in Europe. You get it at 45 euros if you preorder.

Price in the UK tends to be 25-35 pounds, so on top of everything, SEGA is ripping us off.

Yeah too expensive for what it is. I wouldn't have picked it up if not for the cheap price I got.

I never reviewed on Steam, maybe that's just me but I don't find the binary system sufficient to describe a game. If it were like Imdb (where I still think we need .5 options as well) I would have. With that being said, I don't think I'd hit the 'negative' score on any of their games, otherwise I wouldn't be logging all these hours. I'd only hit negative if the game was atrocious, didn't play etc. If their pre-game editor tool had reviews, I'd jump right now and hit negative.

PC Gamer reviews for the games:
2022- 85%
2021- 85%
2020- 87%
2019- 90%
2018- 89%
2017- 85%
2016- 83%
2015- 61%
2014- 87%
2013- 88%
2012- 84%
2011- 84%

Granted it's never the same people rating the games, apart from the extremely harsh 2015 one, it's a consistent game because it's a great experience overall and they don't do overhauls. But at least according to these reviewers, the game has been in a decline since the November 2018 release.

I would have given higher ratings to the 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2017 versions myself and lower ones to 2022, 2019, 2018 and 2014. And of course FM2015 wasn't that bad...

Anyone know this game and can tell me a little bit more? Looks interesting.
Sounds like a cracking game to buy with Covid.

I've never heard of it, seems like a really cool concept but also a concept that would get old very soon, same cards, same upgrades.. you for sure would need some sort of update/dlc in the form of a new deck of cards sent/new teams etc (which might be what they are thinking).

Also I have no friends and my wife is shit at board games, so it would not be for me.

Totally agree with you though, it for sure looks interesting, if I was younger or at uni I'd probably go for it.
