Glad Fernando is alright. He's one of the very few drivers in formula 1 I still like. Not the only big crash he has been in as I still remember that crash with Webber at Brazil in the rain which ended up with Fisichella somehow winning in a fucking Jordan

I used to love Jordan. Especially when they had the shark themed nosecone. Anyway, I'm a supporter of more colour in F1. It's been pretty bland the last few years

Rosberg just announced his retirement from F1 :serious: Guess he wants to go out on a high as world champion and focus on his family, but he's only 31 and in his best form. I'm sure he'll probably make a comeback in the future.

Thats Massa, Button and Rosberg all retiring in one season. I'm guessing Alonso might be replacing Rosberg as Vettel still has some time left on his Ferrari contract.

I imagine hulkenburg or another German goes there, seems like a bitch way out though by not bothering to defend the title at his age

do you guys know what it means to chase this dream ever since being a little kid? Rosberg was racing ever since he was a little kid, worked so hard to arrive here, maybe he has no motivation left, i dont blame him tbh

True, but you'd think he'd want to defend it and go for more titles seeing as he is in a Mercedes car that is in a league of its own.

I'm a Ferrari fan, but I'd want Vettel to go to Mercedes just to stop that whiny cunt Hamilton from winning anything.

There is no competition between his Mercedes and the other cars. Its only him vs Hamilton, maybe thats the problem. Where should he get motivation to continue? Formula 1 now is only a Marketing thing. I see no fun for the fans but also not for the drivers if you already know that Mercedes will win.

I guess Rosberg simply chose the family over everything else. He mentioned his wife and his baby girl in his farewell to f1, that's where his thoughts are. He isn't the first in the world of racing who made this choice. A similar (although far less famous) case was Poggiali, who left motor racing after two titles and he clearly said how he didn't feel like racing anymore after his first kid was born; and of course, a less similar but more famous case was stoner. I don't know if it is the fear of dying on the asphalt or simply the need to leave a job that takes away so much time, or both, but to some people racing and having a family just don't blend.

I used to love it as a kid. It's not fun how it used to be. Over the years, the f1 circus has done anything in their power to make this sport as boring as possible. They are well aware of that but don't seem to care. However, my favorite pilot is Raikkonen, I find him an interesting person, he doesn't talk like a diplomat.

I wish it wasn't on a pay TV. Not because you have to pay to watch it, but because the moment it happened, F1 stopped being a popular topic in bars, something many people would talk about while sipping a coffee. I mean, it was never as popular as football (I'm talking about Italy), but it used to be very popular and a topic in bars. I hope I don't sound like a negative Nancy here, I just miss a bit that atmosphere.
