Also we don't have much data for cases when player scoring well in Serie B lands to a better Serie A side, apart from Lapadula and Milan. 27 Serie B goals, 8 in Milan in the subsequent season.
Do you have the data on how younger players have performed versus older players coming from Serie B?

Check the data regarding the Juve players back in Serie B and then compare it to the next season they got promoted to Serie A.

Why would I do that? That's not relevant to this case and it's like 15 years ago. :D

You need to be more specific.
The comparison between the topscorers of the promoted teams based on age and how they performed (goals scored).

Lets say we divide it between two age groups of 24 and below and 25 and up. What age group performs better on average after promotion. Either the season after being promoted or just in general

I’d love to see that list, because I’d argue that there is no player passing the eye test as much as Pio at his age. Dude can be a very missing piece with his back to the goal, he has that pure striker in him.

Made a little exercise with ChatGPT over good Serie B scorers, whose teams have been promoted to Serie A the next season and how the goal scoring have continued in A.

In the past 10 years, over all the top scorers of the 3 promoted teams each season, who have continued to then play in Serie A the next season, the ratio of goals in A vs B on average is 0.26.

For 26-year-olds and younger, the ratio is 0.20. I included arbitrary number 26 becuase Gyasi was 26 when he was at Spezia and got 0.44 ratio when they got promoted. So that number, if used with 25-year-olds, would have been even worse.

I don't know can we make anything out of this, maybe something, maybe nothing, but the fact is goal tally in A the next season is usually not even half of Serie B goals. And even worse if veterans are filtered out of the result.
Okay, I played a bit more with ChatGPT, and came to a conclusion this data might be BS. :D

It's so inconsistent, it keeps changing what it outputs, way too much to consider this trusted data.

Anyway, tried some manual checks of some data and the fact is Serie B goal scorers TYPICLALLY don't score even half of he goals they scored in Serie B. Exceptions exist there which tilts the average on the positive side, but in general the shift from B to A when it comes to strikers is big.

Point of this whole exercise is to kind of point out it might NOT be the best solution to bring Francesco back and straight to the first team. Then again, every player is individual and I trust our coaching staff to decide, what's best for this kid, given he is brought to the American tour and be part of our preseason too.

Id prefer he got a shot to really develop as a starter at a mid/bottom A side, but if after preseason they took the decision to give him a few months chance provided we knew there was definitely space I'd be fine with it too

I recall that Lapadula and Caprari were tearing apart serie B teams. Milan got the former and we got the latter, and both of them failed to make an impact even though we didn't use Caprari at all iirc.

Inter are in advanced talks to renew the contract of Francesco Pio Esposito, who is being tracked by Manchester United and Leicester City because of his strong performances with Spezia in Serie B.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the talent will be tied to the Nerazzurri until 2030 once he puts pen to paper, with a pay rise. He had the chance to join Torino last summer, but he preferred staying at Spezia, where he had also played in the 2023/2024 campaign, to have a starring role and help the team. He has scored 14 goals in 26 games so far.

Inter intend to bring Esposito to the United States for the Club World Cup, Tuttomercatoweb informs. Simone Inzaghi will evaluate him during such a competition and in the pre-season.
