Once we didn't know who was "the one" to take freekicks for us last season: Ze Maria, Veron, Mihajlovic, etc. Now, shamefully, we often have to rely on Deki, whom shoots the ball with almost no swere, to be our set-piece takers. You may say, "HEY! Adri and Ibra have scored two powerful indirect freekicks this season!" But for the rest of the time, their POWERFUL trademark strikes usually end up on the wall.

I'm not here to say we should sign a freekick specialist next season. This is pointless. However, can we not let Adri and Ibra take most short distance freekicks? In this season, when they step up for the ball, I could tell everyone that the ball will strike the wall. This makes me feel so frustrated.

Look at how Matrix took the freekick in the Super Coppa Italia win against Roma. Although he didn't manage to get the ball in, at least it passed over the wall, descended and hit the post. This is the exactly kind of freekick we need! Whether the ball goes it or not, it could make a mess in the box or for the goalkeeper, rather than giving a chance for our opponents to counter-attack.

Guys, Figo and Recoba are most likely leaving us next season. I don't see anyone in our squad has the potential to be the perfect freekick taker next season. It could be Cruz, Maxwell or Matrix. I don't know. But the most important thing is, never let Adri and Ibra repeat what they have done this season, again and again......

You got the point there mate. But I think adriano is pretty lethal on free kicks, remember his uncounted one against juve. Anyway I think we should let matrix take more curling ones. He is master in that.

Just this season:

Recoba
Figo
Cruz
Adriano
Stankovic
Materazzi
Ibrahimovic
Grosso(yes he can:))
Mariano Gonzalez(him too...)

I may have even skipped some!

Just because our players don't play rock-paper-scissors for the freekicks anymore, it doesn't mean that we lack that. We don't have Totti, Juninho etc but those we have are good enough.

I hate Stankovic's free kicks he has no technique whatsoever. Ibrahimovic too. Our FK takers should be Materazzi, Chino, Adri or Cruz.

yeah I don't like Zlatan's blind freekicks too.

Cruz used to score wonderful freekicks (before people like Figo and Mihajlovic joined us).

The freekick in Torino was just class. :star:

The only guys who can throw in a decent free kick are Figo, Chino and Grosso.

Adriano used to be an AMAZING free kick taker last season, remember the one he scored against roma in the 3-2 defeate, or the one against juve ! but lets just say that Adriano is not the same player anymore

i think Matrix should be our free kick taker next season as both figo and recoba are leaving. Matrix can at least beat the wall, unlike Zalatan, who got me really :frustrat: with the way he shot that free kick against roma

i donno about grosso, he didnt even make a single high quality cross all season long, so i cant imagine him stepping behind a dead ball.

I remember last season a commentator said we had too many good freekick takers when Miha, Recoba, Adriano, Figo were all on the pitch

adriano basically smacked it really hard AFTER they worked it wide of the wall

they need to set up more FK for adriano

i dont see a reason to buy a specialist FK taker, miha can just teach deki or ibra to deliver the ball into those dangerous areas

You are born with that skill. You can't learn how to score from free kicks.

not only free-kicks, but crosses and corners will also be difficult to take advantage of ... and there is no surity that Stan may play all the matches ...

Miha was unique about this!
Freekicks,corners,you name it!
Stankovic only has a power, but it is not enough,Andriano also but he has space for improvement if he learn that it is not all about power,he has some potential, for the rest maybe Matrix but I think he can't be consistent,so maybe next year we will sign somebody that beside other qualities knows how to take freekicks
