Well, I'd say that there was a chance that a team like Sporting or Benfica or Porto could splash around 15m for him, but we wasted that card by loaning him there and making them realize who this player was. Maybe someone in Ukraine, Russia, Japan or China wants to have him inaugurate a new skyscraper?

Those selling clubs could (and did) splash that kind of transfer fee; but no way they will pay that ridiculous 7m wage.

China. No major European club would take an interest at him after his failed spell at Inter and Benfica.

If a miraculous offer doesn't come from Asia, we'd have to a) sell him for maybe 15m to anyone interested in paying that sum, or b) keep loaning him until his contract expires.

He is on loan until the end of 2018 not until the end of this season.
Plenty of time for him to score some more goals and create some interest...

If he shows good progress, maybe we oculd have him back for a month or two in pre-season training and see how he measures up
