It will most likely be Kovacic instead of Jonathan. And from videos I've seen of mvila, he's able to make intelligent, dangerously incisive passes from deep. Even Medel is not a player who blindly bombs the ball forward. After dispossessing the opposition MF, he looks up and makes an intelligent, if direct pass to the players in front of him. Certainly doesn't just blindly clear the ball after winning back possession.

If that's true, this transfer went from terrible to a fucking disaster. €6M would already be bad, unless it was a loan with an option to buy like it was rumored in the beginning, which wasn't great but OK at least. But what this deal has been turning into is just unbelievable awful.

Surely we can find better players to spend 10-12m. Specially with so many Ukraine based players desperately looking for a loan/option move, and big clubs like Real, Barca, Man Utd, etc looking to shed excess weight.

Please tell me that's not true. 8.5 mil with 1-2 million in performance bonuses is the VERY maximum I would pay for him. Any more than that and we are getting taken to the cleaners
