I wish more people would post their opinion about this, cause if you ask me, you've seen some other game last night...

On the contrary, I believe that I've seen more good then bad said about Ibrahimovic from our fans.

What Super Cup were you watching? ;)

I've seen Zlatan holding the ball too much (before the 4-3), making fancy moves instead of the easy pass, trying a stupid trick and letting the ball go out of play (looking rather silly), missing a great chance with a sloppy shot, missing a complete sitter which would have won the game.

Also, a couple of dives. I know I hate Zlatan, but to be honest I'm not so negative about him since he left JuBe. I just think he wasn't awful yesterday, but not good either.

Obviously you have to consider Adriano's performance too. If Adriano is not doing anything, it'll be difficult for Zlatan to shine.

I don't agree with many ratings there. Adriano's 4 is imo only because of people hoping for him to do wonders. If he got 4 then Grosso should've also have one. He was the most further away from his potential, but not the worst player.

And Zlatan, JZ, Vieira, Stanko & Cambiasso I don't accept either.

My view of gazzetta's ratings:

Toldo[6.0]: Good.
Grosso[5.0]: Good.
Maicon[6.5]: Good.
Materazzi[5.5]: Good.
Samuel[5.5]: Fine, maybe 6.
Zanetti[5.5]: 5.5? Yes his first half was quite poor and his error lead to Roma's first goal but he significally improved in second half, just like the whole squad. Made those runs past several Roma players and controlled the ball well. At least 6.5, maybe even 7.
Cambiasso[6.0]: Fine, maybe 6.5, though tackles were often late.
Figo[8.0]: Good.
Stankovic[5.5]: Same as Zanetti was quite poor at first half but then made few good interceptions and most of crosses were good, one leading to Crespo's goal. Pace was good. Certainly not 5.5, 6.5 or 7.0.
Vieira[6.5]: 6.5? The guy made 2 goals and controlled the ball like genious. Few misspasses but rest of them were accurate and good. 7.5 I'd say.
Adriano[4.0]: Oh come on, the man wasn't so poor! He didnt score an own goal did he? Definately not more that 5.5/6.0 but 4.0? Ehh....
Crespo[7.5]: Comparing to Vieira's 6.5 this 7.5 seems like exaggeration to me. 7.0 would be fine.
Zlatan[5.0]: Surely 5.0 ain't what he deserves. YES, the pass that lead to Vieira's goal was meant to be shot towards goal but every pass counts doesn't it? Yes missed from that great place but also held the ball well. Couple good passes like the one to Vieira. 6.0 IMO.

Toldo 6: Made some solid saves but ****ed up and was partially at fault for a goal.

Grosso 5: Was having a hard time, but did well.

Maicon 6: When he gave that salute to the fans to pump the team up, that right there makes me want this guy to play with us for a long time. He has that passion that drives him, I'm sure it won't take long before he becomes an icon for this club. Oh yeah, and his performance was stellar as usual.

Zanetti 5.5: I haven't seen Zanetti play below-par in a while. He keeps dribbling to nowhere and he ends up losing the ball or winning a throw-in. He never EVER shows even a sign of thinking about crossing...the only downside to the great man.

Samuel & Materazzi 5: 2 sweepers *tsk*tsk*

Cambiasso 6: Vieira won more balls than him, but we saw good fluidity in midfield thanks to Cuchu's sharp passes.

Vieira 7.5: Our DM, changed possession countless times, won every ball in sight, scored 2 very important goals. We finally found what Cambiasso needs.

Stankovic 6.5: Unlike many here, I thought Stan's 2nd half made up for his 1st.

Figo 8.5: MOM no doubt about it, perfect in every aspect of his game, I don't think I saw him lose the ball once. He looked as sharp as ever. Luis, I'm sorry for ever doubting you during the summer keep it up.

Adriano 5.5: Gazzetta's 4 gave me a good laugh because when you look at our first half compared to our second you'd think it was 2 different teams. Adriano tried, he did well during the time he played and was frustrated at himself when he came off. I see nothing wrong with that.

Zlatan 6.5: His first half wasn't very good, when our midfield improved in the second he saw alot more of the ball and looked very dangerous. He pulled a Solari but I'm sure he'll bounce back.

Crespo 7: Came on and scored. That's what he's here for.

Generally, I think the ratings are too low and the first half has surely made its impact on the ratingers (can you say that?). Javier, Vieira, Stankovic, Zlatan deserved better ratings. I think alvaro sums it up well.

Nice posts from alvaro and Mike your ratings make sense unlike those of gazzetta.

Hey Frisko I was just wondering if there was anyway you could find the criteria that Gazzetta base their ratings on. I mean is there something like a pass completion rate for a midfielder that would give him a certain rating wheras some mistimed tackles that lead to a goal would take away.

If we could see what they are basing their scores on I think it would be much easier to understand why players got therating that they did.

Hmm..I find Gazzetta ratings very objective..Why should Adriano get a higher rate when he's done absolutely nothing and accidentaly when he was replaced with Crespo, things started to look much better?!

Vieira, on the other hand, deserves at least 7, the rest is fine IMO..

About Adriano for me he was one of the best man in first half. Sorry but you are not objective.

If you are rating the players you should first rate the team.
Team rating: 6 Can not be more becuse of the first half
Toldo 6 He was in the team avrage and saved us from more.
ZAnetti 6 After poor start he came togather and make up for his big mistake
Grosso 5 He did not do anything what should earn him bigger mark.
Samuel 5,5 He did not do his job in the first half
Matriy 5,5 Same goes for Matrix
Figo 8 MoM If he would not play as he was ,.....
Stankovic 6,5 Poor first half he was little above avrage of the team
Cambiasso 6,5 He is esential part of the team and was good but 3 goal is from him Aquilani is his man to mark.
Vieira 7,5 Made 2 crucial goals played good but he is lacking fittnes
Adriano 5,5 He did not help team to overcome this but he surely was not our worst player
Zlatan 6,5 He played nice good play upfront but his lack of will and finishing i can not give him more
Maicon 7 His entrance give us big boost at the right flank intercepted tons of passes who gave us opertunity for counter.
Crespo 7 Like Maicon his entrance amde diffrence. And his basic instinct for goal is spectacular.
Dacourt Not enoguh to deserve rating.

zlatan was fine, but he needs to realize that every play doesnt have to be fancy. he kept trying to play beyond what was needed and it resulted in many giveaways. at the same time, he also had some nice plays that led to at least 1 goal.

Some of the ratings received are rather shocking; however, I guess Gazzetta took the complexion of the match in its entirety. It is far too easy to base one's judgement with the events of the match in mind - the exhilaration accompanying Inter's comeback could sway the thoughts of many a viewer.

With that said, I believe Vieira and Zlatan deserve higher ratings than they were credited for.

The former was a workhorse throughout the entire match; his contributions were immense, not only with his goals, but his grip on the midfield, too.

Zlatan wasn't thoroughly involved in everything good Inter conjured, but by hell, he certainly merits a grade higher than 5. Taking into account Gazzetta's supposed criterion for player ratings, Zlatan should rightfully garner a 6, at the least.

Ciao,
Tim

Spot on Tim, you have to keep in mind that Gazzetta rates players on the whole game, and that they also consider expectations from players.

For example, a player like Zanetti is not to make a mistake like the one that led to Roma's first goal. Also his problem in containing Mancini.

This goes for everybody. Obviusly gazzetta is no bible, for example I don't agree with Vieira's rating, but they say that he left Aquilani too much space in the first half, so they rated him lower than I would have done.

Still, they seem pretty objective to me.

Best man?? And you call me nonobjective?:wallbang:

I like this wide range of ratings..Usually, newspapers when evaluate players, implicate the final outcome too much, so the ratings are either generally too low or to high..For example, Inter won, but Ibra was awful..Missed two great chances, lost many balls and his passes were humorous from time to time..I was really disappointed by his performance..5 was objective, IMO..

I said onw of !?!?!?!?

More than falf team sucked first half. And ADri was not one of them.

1half.
Nothing from: Figo Ibra Zanetti Grosso Matrix Stan.

And goals from Aquilani are fault of our midfield.

First post updated, serie A calendar has been added, I put on the Supercoppa ratings as well, as that was the first game of the season and the first official line-up for Mancini.

Squad list has also been updated.

i think that adri didn't play that bad but neither good se was better than zlatan until crespo came in, so 4.0 is not a fair rating for him

I agree... In the statistic, it sais Adri was the weakest player on the pitch. But I think he wasn't so bad, so rating 5 will be OK... My oppinion though...
