The real question is what cringe worthy name will we come up with for the U23 squad? Milan Futuro and Juve Next Gen both sound dumb. I M Plusvalenza?

Nobody posted about our win vs Lille as far as I can see:

On Friday we will find out who is our next opponent.

Out of "big teams" only Juventus and Liverpool are eliminated (against Trabzonspor and Stuttgart). Well,Benfica against AZ also.

Inter - Lecce 3-0
De Pieri, Bovo, Berenbruch

Inter - Lille 3-1
Spinaccè x2, Mosconi

Udinese - Inter 1-4
Aidoo, Berenbruch, Pinotti, De Pieri

Inter - Monza 4-1
De Pieri, Spinaccè, Topalovic, Cocchi

Bologna - Inter 0-3
Topalovic, Lavelli, Cocchi

Inter Primavera has been doing really well lately, scoring an average of 3.4 goals per game in the last five games.
Topalovic, Cocchi, Berenbruch, and De Pieri are showing a lot of potential.

Maybe some of them better off going to Serie B instead of Serie C with the U23 team.

I've read somewhere that Topalovic, Barenbruch and Delpieri will be included in our U23 team for the next season.

We go through on penalties!!!

Equalizer in fourth minute of extra time by (greek) captain Alexiou, we hit the bar the attack immediately after, and now all but the last penalty goes in.

We meet Trabzonspor in the quarter finals (with Salzburg and Olympiakos in the next bracket - one paper, having no idea how good they are, you'd think we have a good chance of making the finals).

I'm 100% supportive of an Inter U23 team but we should just observe that Milan's could get relegated to D.

It just shows what we have been always saying ... the jump from primavera to professional football is not easy. Even their big talent Camarda has scored i think 2 goals in Serie C until now.

U23 needs serious investment, constantly, to be useful. You need to keep a core of players that grow each other so that the outliers ( top talents) can get out of the team every year and new one being signed/formed constantly
The team shouldn't be as good as to aim Serie B ( i don't see a value of having a team there , the cost would be too high) but not as bad as to face relegation. A team that loses every game is not that formative probably

yeah, agreed. You want some 'fat' in like, 25-30 year old players who are playng at the right level for their careers, then a few good players who are on the fringes of the first team as required

that said, still 100% behind an U23 team for inter. It will be interesting to see the decisions we take on who does, and doesnt, go in it.

Cocchi apparently doesn't wanna go there and rather wants to go abroad.

I think guys going to Serie C would be younger, optimally, and of course depending on the maturity level. Then if development happens, they take a step forward to Serie B / abroad.

They say they're planning to have Berenbruch in Serie C and then train with the first team.

I think we probably won't have a blanket rule and it'll depend on first team spaces too.

Like, for example, if Berenbach sees frattesi leaving, and asllanis is only 50/50, then there's space for him to play, but for cocchi he's got three players ahead of him at wing back already, arguably 4?

For people like Zanotti it doesn't make sense either.

As much as I'd love to do it with Pio it would be a waste of him.

In fact I can't think of many of our better kids who would suit the U23 ATM. Topalovoc maybe is perfect

Zanotti only has Dumfries ahead of him, why include him?

I thought we let Zanotti go without retaining an option.

Yes I think that's correct but ultimately he's at a club where, if we wanted to, we could bring him back from.

Just realize that Cocchi is on team Raiola agencies, no wonder there are reports that his "entourage" is not interested to see him in series C.
