guys we shouldn't confuse scouting with the decision making/strategy that the club has.
The 2nd is much more important than the 1st

At inter the strategy has always been win now. It has never been ok in the next 4-5 years we will completely rebuild the roster and invest in youth no matter of the results.
So based on that main pillar and the budget that you have the rest follows.

If you have a win now strategy and 20M budget of course you can't afford to bet on Kvara from georgia but you go for Lukaku who has proven in the past that can deliver a title. The outcome in the end doesn't impact the thought process in the beginning.
It's very easy to say now that it would have been better to get Kvara instead but that is not how it works.

Napoli on the other hand has a completely different strategy which is buy young potential who have resale value and don't have high salary demands. If Kvara had failed no one who have judged napoli for not winning the title so it puts much less pressure on their youngsters/new comers to play without pressure.

Of course you can have a win now strategy while also investing in youth and high potential players but that needs a much bigger budget than what we have had in our disposal lately.
Excellent point.

Specially that comparison to Kvara and Lukaku. Before we've seen Kvara at Serie A, how can you suggest you go to Scudetto battle with him?

Napoli did just that but the key difference between Napoli and Inter is that they are not expected to win anything. At some point it's unfortunately like that, you can't take too much risks. If Inter signs Kvara and he flops (because of pressure, because of whatever) and how stupid Inter, management, coach would look?

We all want Inter to take these risks but it's easy to shout over here in the Internet about these matters. We have zero skin in the game in the end. Unlike owners, directors, coaches etc.

Yeap, when your budget is finite and you have high targets, you settle for known commodities, even if they're not ideal. That's why you see the likes of Lukaku and Morata get so much transfer movement.

But people are calling this a scouting problem and they are completely off.

Gaetano Oristanio’s impressive form on loan at Volendam is putting the Inter-owned midfielder on the radar of Italian national team coach Roberto Mancini
Inter Milan Owned Gaetano Oristanio Impressing On Loan At Volendam & Is Being Monitored By Italy Coach Roberto Mancini, Italian Media Report

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Oristanio’s decision to move to the Eredivisie has paid off, with the 20-year-old standing out in the Netherlands and helping Volendam climb out of the relegation zone.

Mancini is looking for young talent to add to his Azzurri squad, with a focus on finding attack-minded players to ease the pressure on strikers Ciro Immobile and Giacomo Raspadori.

With Gianluca Scamacca and Andrea Pinamonti struggling for form this season, a space has opened up for Oristanio in a more advanced position and he could be called up by Mancini in the next international break.

Oristanio initially moved to Volendam in 2021 but opted to remain at the Dutch club for a further season last summer, and he is yet to feature for Inter’s first team.
Keep up the good work

Zaniolo got called with just primavera football.

Italian football is in a great need for young talents and Mancio has been great in promoting them (unlike our manager )

He is a talented guy. Technical really gifted. Used as a false 9 recently and keeping some Volendam fan favourites on the bench. Really struggeling to beleive he is good enough to play for for Inter one day tho.

Mullatieri (22 games, 7 goals, 4 assists) is arguably having a better season than him.

Or maybe Esposito with 3 games, 2 goals for Bari / 21 games, 2 goals for Anderlech

Stankovic looks promising, judging only by this game. I hope he gets some chances next season in the first team.

Beppe Giavardi To Replace Roberto Samaden As Head Of Inter Milan Youth Academy, Italian Media Report

Roberto Samaden is set to be replaced as the head of Inter’s youth academy by his current deputy Beppe Giavardi at the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the current head of the academy is likely set to move to a club in Serie B for next season, whilst former scout Giavardi will take his place.

Samaden is reportedly ready to step down from his role as the head of Inter’s youth academy at the end of the current season, ending a 33-year association with the Nerazzurri.

According to the Gazzetta, Giavardi will be the man designated to replace the current head in the role.

Giavardi had been the head of scouting at the Nerazzurri, and in 2021 he took on the role of assistant to Samaden, and will be promoted from within now that the latter is set to depart.

Maybe he wants something else. He's been at the club for 33 years, hard to see the owner has anything to do with this.

Roberto Samaden To Take Up Role In Italian FA After Stepping Down As Inter Milan Head Of Youth Academy, Italian Media Report

The head of Inter’s youth academy Roberto Samaden is set to take up a role in the Italian FA when he steps down from his role at the Nerazzurri at the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that Samaden will play a key role in refreshing the Azzurri’s setup to focus around youth.

Samaden has informed Inter that he intends to step down from his role as head of the youth academy at the end of the season, ending a 33-year association with the Nerazzurri.

There has been some speculation regarding what Samaden’s next move will be, but according to Tuttosport he is likely to turn his attention to the national team.

Given that Italy missed out on the World Cup last year, the feeling is that the national team setup is in need of a refresh based around younger players, and so Samaden’s experience is set to play a role in this change of direction for the Azzurri.

Is this good or bad? Seeing the amount of talents breaking through in our ranks, I'd say it's time for something new
