With most teams back into pre-season training and the start of the season only about a month away, seems like as good a time as any to open the 2024-'25 Bundesliga season thread.
DFB-Pokal games begin the weekend of Aug 16-18, and the DFL Super-Cup is at 20:30 CET on Aug 17 between Leverkusen and Stuttgart. The Bundesliga season itself begins at the same time on Aug 23 in Mönchengladbach with Gladbach playing host to Leverkusen in the Eröffnungsspiel.
Good places to stay up to date all season on the goings-on in Germany include:
(Bayern and also German national team commentary)
...@Il Drago feel free to add to this list in the comments.
Also, with Köln suffering relegation last season, this means the Zweite Bundesliga now features:
Köln, Schalke, Hertha Berlin, HSV - this is first ever Bundesliga season where Hamburg is solely represented by thebrown shirts St. Pauli - Düsseldorf, Hannover, FCK, and Nürnberg (among other teams)
Almost half the division comprised of historic German clubs. Strange world we live in.
