Not sure where to post this so i am posting it here.

I have always wondered if I am the only one who has wished to see more german players playing at inter.
I always feel that German players are very adapt to Serie A football. They are physically strong, never too flashy , always tactically disciplined and in every generation there are plenty of talents to pick from.

I know that Bayern will always be a tough competitor for german players but still football is played with 11 people and they can't have all of them.

Even going back back in history to german players in Italy and not just Inter they have almost always done good here so it amazes me how come in the last decade Serie A hasn't searched for any of them. I don't even hear rumors.

For me personally Ballack has always been someone i would have wished to see in serie A/Inter but the list is very long and even today can be filled with lots of names.

To the face of tohir i faced this today http://bundesligafanatic.com/inters-german-connection-poldis-predecessors/ but even out of the Inter trio there are plenty of others who have done good in Italy Briegel , Bierhof , Klose or even Khedira now just to mention a few.

I always wanted to see some German players at Inter. When I started following Inter, we were the "German" team. Brehme, Matthaus, Klinsmann. Just like in the last decade or so we have been an "Argentine" team.

Many years ago, I wanted Schweinstieger at Inter. I thought he could be our new Matthaus. Last couple of years, I wanted to see Julian Weigl at Inter, though of late he hasn't been playing all that well.

This is also the reason I was hoping we intercept Napoli's move for Younes - €5m is nothing some a German International, specially if he makes the World Cup squad. Or Juve's move for Can. Or rekindle our interest in Mustafi in the summer. If we don't buy Cancelo for some reason at the end of the season, maybe we could target that kid from Leverkusen - Henrichs, he looks promising. If we can afford him in the summer, Julian Brandt would be nice to give Perisic some real competition.

Draxler I am not sure whether he would be worth the big fee. And Schurrle and Gotze never impressed me, too inconsistent. If I have to pick two of the above players, it would be the two Julians (Weigl and Brandt). Probably will cost us 100m or something, but these are young, quality players who will deliver.

I've always thought it's strange why we don't go for German players, but instead had a fetish for a ridiculously long list of mediocre south americans. Germany is also near Milano and their football approach and descipline seems close to Serie A, so there's isn't much to learn or get used to (like in Dalbert's case here or even Gabigol).

I think a big part of why we are not signing German players is that they don't want to come here. I've noticed that Germans have a really hard time adapting to a new environment and don't make friends easily (I've been living amongst them). They mostly like to stay in Germany or else go to England. Their culture is more similar to the English culture than the Italian or Spanish. Also a lot of Germans speak English or some times French but not Italian or Spanish.

They would make a sacrifice for signing for a top club like Madrid or Barcelona but I'm not sure if any highly rated German player would agree to come to Serie A and Inter.

Think about it, let's say Inter scouts suck. What about rest of Serie A? Why do other Italian teams rarely go after German players? Does any team in Serie A have a single German youngster? Why don't they sign German youngsters?

As I said earlier generally Germans don't like living outside Germany. So if they were to leave, they either go to England or a top club like PSG, Barcelona or Madrid. A German player worthy of Inter could easily find a club in England with the same offered wages if not higher.

Current list of Germans in Serie A:
*Khedira
*Howedes (is being returned to Germany soon)
*Gaudino (not good)
*Gosens (not good)

Not sure where to post this:

SempreInter did a nice write-up on Brehme.

The Miami Heat also did a cross-promotion with Bayern Munich ahead of the International Champions Cup in Miami.
This video is pretty poorly done but worth watching, if only for Matteaus' great German accent.

I used to think Merkel was a sure thing. Whatever happened to him? I know he was Milan youth, went back to Milan and flopped?

He has bounced around like crazy.

- Sat the bench at Watford (In the Championship)
- Sat the bench at Grasshopper
- Sat the bench at Bochum

Now he is getting some consistent playing time at Admira in the the Austrian first division.

Always thought he was below average. Milan's version of Obi, a home grown player that people had hopes for based on absolutely nothing. At least Obi scored in the most Nothing derby of all time :D
