Yeah Hamad,I love Larsson too what a top class champion he is...I hated that it was him who missed it in his last WC..

Jimmy hardluck, another thing i would add to your countries credit that they didnt look like they were 10 against a red hot 11 Germans !!

I am with you on the yellow card, but I do think he is a good ref despite that horrible judgment..

The big problem is that they will face Argentina next (if they beat Mexico which i am hoping) I wonder if the Germans will suprise us there or the train will reach its final stop..I really hoped for a European team like England or France or even better Holland

Any good ref doesn't smile like that when giving someone a red card. It was to mock him. That is just outrageous.

Sweden was pathetic, but to not even being given the chance to come back into the match, just pisses me off.

What a stupid game. The worst game in this WC.

Afaa, first it's Hamed and second that was Raed and not me :( Damn, you are not my spiritual mentor anymore!

I didn't see the game but saw parts of it taped. Germany dominated Sweden even when Sweden had 11 players and both goals were scored when Sweden had 11 players.

About the red-card, both offences were bookable. Technically, the referee can send Luccic out, but he has to be a jerk to do that. Most refs wouldn't give a second yellow-card to an already-booked player for that offence. But like Helal said, pulling a counterattacking player's shirt is a bookable offence.

Alex, it was actually this way:

"Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans win"

And he said it after that Pentaly shoot-outs loss to Germany at Italia 90.

Deutschland über alles

As I expected, Sweden were piss poor. Surely the sending off was a bit harsh, even if when you pull an opponent's shirt, you should be booked, that's the rule (rarely applied by refs consistently).

Sweden own a big thank you to their keeper, who was outstanding today, and the frame of the goal, the only 2 things that saved them from total humilation.

In the end, when you have clowns like Zlatan and Ljungberg who always try the nice trick and consistently lose the ball, what can you expect?

Germany looks solid and impressive, the Argies will have to do much better than against Mexico.

Agreed, whether Sweden was winning or losing, what the ref did was unacceptable.
FIFA has to take a good hard look at themselves, the officiating has been the worst since 78.

The Germans played an excellent game, and while they're playing better and better, the Argies' performance is steadily dropping so they'll need everything to beat the Germans.
I just love the fact that Klinsmann is denying all his critics (well, I was one of those too :D), hats off to him!

Jimmy, I think the Germans dominated the game on 11v11 too, and technically, sticking to the rules, both yellow cards were just. The thing that pissed me off though was the ref's smiling, what a jerk. :yuck:

I've gotta say. By all experts in newspapers, news agencies and on every other forum, THIS has been the only forum where people say it was a fair red card. Not only was Ljungberg supposed to have a free-kick in the incident before, Klose was pulling Lucic too.

Just look at this:

Red card? My ass...

I accept the fact that Sweden were dominated and were absolute rubbish. But I cannot accept this red card. We had like 60 minutes to try and turn the game around, and we did have our chances. Larsson wasted several, and so did Ibrahimovic. 11 vs 11 and a goal for Sweden, and the game might have changed. But we were never given that oppurtunity because of this referee.

I would have loved to see the reaction if an Inter player was sent off because of such an incident.
