Hm.

If we had to insist on the 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2, I'd hope to see either:

JC
Lucio - Samuel - Zanetti
Maicon - Cambiasso - Obi - Nagatomo
Zarate - Pazzini - Forlan

or

JC
Lucio - Samuel - Ranocchia
Maicon - Cambiasso - Obi - Zanetti (Nagatomo)
Sneijder
Forlan - Pazzini

If we play a 3-4-3 :)palm:), with a flat 4 midfield, then I'd rather not see Sneijder at all.

I hope to God that Gasp sees some sense and plays either a 4-3-1-2 or 4-2-3-1. Which would hopefully look like:

JC
Maicon - Lucio - Samuel - Nagatomo
Zanetti - Cambiasso - Obi
Sneijder
Forlan - Pazzini

and

JC
Maicon - Lucio - Samuel - Zanetti
Cambiasso - Obi
Zarate - Sneijder - Forlan
Pazzini

I like Universe 3rd formation with Alvarez in Obi's place.

I agree with pretty much everything. I don't want to see Wes in a 3-4-3 midfield either, but I think he can be used up front (with his back to goals) instead of Zarate or Forlan. He'll still have deadly passing, shooting, crossing and fast, intelligent movement. He's played on the wing successfully before.

And Obi>Alvarez for sure

I like Universe 3rd formation with Alvarez in Obi's place.

Why? What has Alvarez shown over Obi? Alvarez may be more 'tricky' than Obi, and use more 'skill' and technique, whereas Obi is more physical, but judging from pre-season, I'm sure no one would disagree with me if I said Obi has been more impressive than Alvarez. Probably the best performer out of our entire team so far.

I think Gasp is being unreasonable here. Most of the CD players are over 30 and extremely slow. With the 3 man formation, they will have to play all the time. No time to rest. The 4 man formation allows one CD Player to miss some matches. Frankly, I question his wisdom and even sanity. I am not even sure if he is aware of all the Inter Milan players. He seems to only recognize only the old timers and Ranoikia. I am not sure if he is aware that Pazzini is an Inter player. What was Branca thinking when he hired him?

Giampiero Gasperini (Coach). The former Genoa's coach replaced Leonardo. A shrewd tactician, very competent, with gentle manners and very strong views. Since the very first day in charge he has been trying to reshape Inter to fit in his beloved 3-4-3 formation. His football knowledge is not questionable, quite more arguable his ability to motivate players of Inter calibre. He must be an instant hit otherwise he risks to be sacked earlier than Benitez.

I think personally he will be a flop... but i hope for inter he is not.

Well, you just answered your own question and pre season form don't mean much to me.

ya i'd pick obi too. the good thing about that formation (4-2-3-1) is it leaves us with a lot of depth for his mf position. motta, poli, deki, alvarez etc. that's a decent selection. although if we have to sub a winger (forlan or zarate) we don't have any replacements besides coutinho. trequartista and 2 strikers gives us more depth in subs

My biggest concern isnt the defence of three(i prefer a defense of 4 ofc) but the form of our midfield. With the signing of Zarate it seems quite obvious that Sneijder will play in the center of our midfield probably beside Cambiasso. To me thats not safe enough, we need at least two midfielders that protects are defence(like under Mourinho) and Sneijder wont do that(most likely).

Anyway I wont give a full opinion before Ive seen some official games.

True. As I've said many times, a flat 4 midfield (which consists of an LM, 2 CM's and a RM) needs two-way CM's. Cambiasso is a 'backwards' CM, and Sneijder is the opposite. Neither are properly utilised in a flat 4 midfield.

as much as it pains me to say, but zanetti has no business being first team anymore.

naga has surpassed zanetti as a LB, and zanetti can't offer much if anything in the midfield.

his position is now of supersub defensive plug.

in a perfect world, i'd probably want to see a 4-3-3 given we have high workrate forwards now.

with cambiasso and obi either side of sneijder in midfield and forlan, zarate/milito drifting back to help link up play and pazzini/milito in the middle

Gian Piero Gasperini (born on January 26, 1958 in Grugliasco, Province of Turin) is an Italian football coach and former player. guess i missed the n letter m instead cos my keyboard N,M, are so close.

but i still think personally he will be a flop as our coach... but i hope for our inter he succeeds.

The only place JZ fits in these days is RCB in a 3-man defense. He's too static as a midfielder (and our midfield is static as is) and he's not attacking-minded enough to be a fullback/wingback... especially the latter. It's a shame as he's a legend obviously but the club is more important than anything. He can still be very useful as a sub much like Giggs at United.

I like the idea of your 4-3-3 as well.

Agree, hope he can take a giggs role this season...even at RCB we need faster ones...
