N4L, I agree 100%. Being tactically intelligent is not enough. I'm not at all convinced that Gasperini will make it here. Still, I have to say I felt very bad about having a coach who is tactically lost in big games. Gasperini, then again, might not have the respect of our changing room, which is just as bad. He also might not have the common sense to ditch his 3-4-3 when required, we will see about that. I'll of course give him a chance, but I understand it could turn out either way. If Leo and Gasp both guided us once through 2011-2012, it might very well be that Leo would be better of the two. Yet I'm happy he is out. With him I think we would have been like Tottenham. Motivated, attacking and fun to watch, but also very fragile and unorganized and thus losing all the big games.
Gasperini, just like Alvarez, Poli, Castaignos, Jonathan and Zarate, is a gamble. My feelings towards starting season are mixed. I'm at the same time excited and scared.
