3-4-3 should be called L-O-L because it will make us the laughing stock.

I expected this kind of result, but not that we would lead(twice). I hoped that Gasperisinis system would suddenly work after disasterous training games. But it wont work like that.

That system 3-4-3 do favour to no one in this team. Almost everyone is playing out of their best positition. Well expect JC :D.

Distances were absolutely too long between players that forced us to pass long and it didnt work. Distances in defence line also make us to make several fouls. It was bound to happen that Miccoli would score one those freekicks.

After Sneijder was brought in the attacking game turned good. Sneijder supposed to play wide but didnt and played like he plays best as trequartista that helped us in creating chances.

Defense was awful the whole game. We were lucky that Palermo didnt score early but in the second half they did which wasnt a big suprise.

Positive: Alvarez was great, Obi too (why he didnt start? :palm:)

Summary: You can forget first 3 places, we are fighting in the place in the european league at best. And at the moment it is pretty realist to say that it will be a miracle to get even there.

The 3-4-3 was wrong, but he did lot of good things tonight. Except for the 3-4-3.

There were better Jubentino, Bilanista and Romemerdista coaches to choose from.

Not just that he has Juventus engraved to his bones he is also pretty mediocre.

On the defense: "When you have players lined up and take more goals, there is no need to talk about form. Most likely the fault condition. We must find the moral"

I dont care about his past or whatever, but all I want to see is Inter which is tactically smart, playing to its strengths. FFS really.

I just hope that MM will sack this fool if he won't change his pathetic tactics. I really can't stand this guy.

Gasp's post-match interview:

http://www.football-italia.net/sep11t.html

“Many little things annoyed me, but above all we were in the lead and couldn’t keep hold of it twice. Then we had the game in hand and still went behind against the run of play. That is the biggest regret,” said the Coach.

Me neither. That is the reason I was high on Ancelotti or even Deschamps when Leo went Mourinho on us.

Gabriele Marcotti had this to say after the game (speaks volume really):

Hey Gasperini: ur 343 can work, but u need the right players (which u don't have) + it's so complicated takes forever to learn (esp. def).

the way i see it, there were 3 major problems with the formation today, the first and most obvious is that neither of the two midfielders were fast enough to be able to contribute in attack and cover the defense at the same time, the second was that the same two midfielders can't keep possession to save their lives, and the last is that the players haven't gelled together yet.

even though i would much prefer playing 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-3, i wouldn't completely write off the 3-4-3 just yet, the first two problems could have easily been avoided today if obi and alvarez had started instead of cambiasso and stankovic, and the third is just a matter of patience, especially with all the new players we have starting

my biggest concern with playing a high line other than the obvious susceptibility to counter attacks is that we can't break down a team that is parking the bus, this was the reason benitez was such an epic fail, but i was pleasantly surprised at the amount of chances we were able create despite palermo playing 9-10 men behind the ball after their 2nd goal

and i don't get this shit about how slow our defenders are, lucio is very fast for a defender and zanetti might be slow for the midfield but he is faster than most defenders out there

now i'm just waiting to see how 3-4-3 will do in the CL where possession football does way better than in serie a, and how gasp will line up against roma who play with 3 strikers

Covered not in terms of personnel, but in terms of making them effective. From what I've seen in pre-season, our 2 CMs are largely passive and ineffective. They are almost always caught in "no man's land", always in transition, but always lagging behind the play. For example, when we're in attack, they are too deep to effectively help the attack. Yet, as soon as we lose the ball, they're then too high to help the defense and are always chasing, hence we're in a constant state of defending counter attacks.

On second thought, the problem is not the 3 in the back either. It's the entire CM line. The 2 wide players in midfield, just like the 2 CMs, are always in no man's land and help with nothing. Wide players are not helping in defense (except for obi, but then, he is not helping the attack) so our 2 wider CBs are often too wide (especially frog). Yet funnily enough, the wide players are not helping in attack either as they're not providing any crosses or going forward enough to penetrate defenses with overlapping runs.

We'll see what happens today v Palermo to see if there's any improvement with the midfield.

:palm:

Midfield in no-man's-land all game long. This is an epic embarrassment. Let's all hope Gasp is "smart" and "humble". That midfield needs to change or the entire formation changed.

I know MM is crazy pissed off right now.

I say we sack him now, as in like the instant I finish post this. Moratti needs to take a page out of Zamparinis books and sack him NOW! Before it gets any worse, but that is just my opinion.
