Six. He also won the UEFA Cup once.

Total appearances for Inter:

1. Javier Zanetti 797
2. Giuseppe Bergomi 756
3. Giacinto Facchetti 634
4. Sandro Mazzola 565
5. Giuseppe Baresi 559
6. Mario Corso 502
7. Walter Zenga 473
8. Tarcisio Burgnich 467
9. Alessandro Altobelli 466
10. Ivan Ramiro Cordoba 455

Do we really need a poll?
Oh right yea, UEFA Cup, forgot about that somehow. :palm:

Still, compounds my point. Six trophies, 5th highest in all time list, why wasn't he put in La Grande Inter to start with?!

Would like to bring up something I mentioned in the Benoit Cauet thread.

I believe a poll should be started as to whether Baresi's thread should be moved to La Grande Inter. First time I went to look for his thread I went there and got confused as to why I couldn't find it. Only then to discover via search it's under plain old Players & Coaches...that surprised me a bit.

559 matches for Inter, five major trophies (2x Scudetti, 2x Coppa Italia, 2x Supercoppa Italiana), a former capitano, and a man who joined this club as an Interista and remains so. I think he deserves better recognition from this forum for all his efforts in his sixteen years serving this club.

Isn't he still part of the coaching staff? Why would you move him to "La Grande Inter"?

I am not saying he doesn't deserve it, but if we are going to do that, we should start by moving Zanetti thread to "La Grande Inter" first.

About Cordoba and Figo being in that section, well, both of them are not coaches.

If i have understood right, then player/part of management will be moved after he is left Inter. And he will be in La Grande Inter without a question, no need for poll or anything.

I did not realise staff + coaches were considered two seperate things...when Cordoba and Figo were there, that's what confused me...

Well Cordoba & Figo are not 'coaches' per se. More like part-time ambassadors if you ask me. :work:

Whereas, Beppe Baresi is assistant coach, no questions asked.

Yes that's what I was trying to imply - all three are staff, but Cordoba and Figo are in executive/ambassadorial roles while Baresi is in a technical role...a subtle difference I didn't understand...my bad.

Just saw this pic with his bother Franco. How epic is their story: 2 brothers, one Interista, one Milanista, both being masters of their profession in their time. It's just epic.

Very untypical though, cuz the younger boy in the family always looks up to the father/older brother & takes him as a role model, yet interestingly Franco picked his older brother's rival team.

Franco was an Inter fan... He only went to Milan because we turned him away for being too short.... he turned up at his inter trial wearing an inter scarf and left in tears.

Wow, didn't know that. Well, this what you get when stupid fucks are decision makers. Probably the same breed of idiots who let Pirlo go. I'd like to know what the guy who rejected him had to say for himself after seeing him becoming a legend in Milan. Should've been bitch slapped tbh.

Poor kid must've been devastated, leaving with tears. :depress:

whats even worse is the only reason he even got a trial at inter was because his brother played for our youth team at the time

It was Lele Oriali if I remember correctly

Imho we need a complete new sporting management. People who understand something about their job. We haven't those kind of managers.

Ineptitude with a youth program is in Inter's blood apparently.

People will say Inter will never be good at developing player but at some point they will have to and that point is coming up pretty soon.

Well I am a younger brother of a Milanista, and I didn't follow him, means this is some heart shit. :proud:

I and my brother are also masters in our profession... Sleeping. :yao:

Just saw this pic. By the look of the jersey, that's circa 1991 maybe 92. Baresi must've been given a token gesture to captain Inter against Milan in this pic because after 89, he barely got many games.

Atleast he tucked his shirt in. Franco practically never tucked his shirt in...

Edit: he's not in La Grande ???
