That's not my point though. Let's say OK he's better than De Vrij and we brought him and lost De Vrij in the process. We are still at the same situation defensively as we only have 3 solid CBs with no depth to cover them adequately.

My point was bring him and keep SDV which will mean we have 4 solid defenders and we can rotate as we please. Bremer can play CB and RCB, Skriniar plays LCB, CB and RCB, SDV plays CB and Bastoni can play LCB, CB.

If we need to go to the next step, Bremer should be an additional to our current ranks not a straight swap with someone. That's my point.
We definitely can’t afford that. Hopefully we the deal to get Ginter is still on. He would be the perfect rotational CB but neither De Vrij nor Bremer will accept being a rotational CB

Would Ginter do that either? Most probable is he goes somewhere he gets a good enough salary and a starting spot.

Apart from Inter, Ginter is mostly linked with Bayern and Barcelona. I doubt they're offering a starting spot. Ginter would be a backup of Upamecano at Bayern and Barcelona would probably prioritize Garcia and Araujo who are a lot younger and academy products over Ginter. At his age, Ginter is more interested in a high salary and a move to a top club than playing time at a semi-top club. Biggest issue is both of these clubs could offer a higher salary to Ginter than we can.

Yea, plus we also play with a back 3. So he should get quite a lot of playing time still

Torino defender Bremer has promised himself to join Inter in the summer, though the Nerazzurri will still have to convince his club on a deal for his signature.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will now have to agree terms with Granata Chairman Urbano Cairo to try and get a deal over the line for the Brazilian.

Bremer is Inter’s main target for the backline during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Andrea Ranocchia and Danilo D’Ambrosio coming to the end of their deals and the departure of Stefan de Vrij also possible.

The player would like to join the Nerazzurri, and has communicated that he intends to do so.

However, now it will be up to Inter to convince Torino on a deal for the 24-year-old, whose form this season has made him a target for a number of clubs and who won’t likely come cheap.

Inter-linked Torino defender Bremer has made clear to his club that he wants a transfer to another club during the summer window despite having recently signed a contract extension.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that in spite of having signed a new deal until the end of June 2024 the Brazilian has a tacit agreement that the Granata will allow him to leave for the right offer.

Bremer has emerged as the Nerazzurri’s main target in defense based on his form for Torino this season, and he is seen as the ideal long-term successor to Stefan de Vrij at the heart of the defense.

The 24-year-old recently signed a one-year extension with the Granata, from 2023 to the end of June 2024, but this has just been for the purpose of increasing the club’s leverage in negotiations for a sale.

The player expects that he will be allowed to leave for a bigger club in the summer, while the Turin-based club will feel less pressure to agree to a bargain fee now that he is not going into the last year of his contract.

Buying was never our issue... Let`s see how much De Vrij can bring in after such performances in this season...

Not sure how reliable Sky Sports Deutschland are? They wrote that Bayern Munich have now entered the fray and made initial very positive contact with Torino.

There is no firm offer yet, but definite interest and the groundwork being laid for a potential summer swoop.

No worries, we'll throw all the Pinamontis and Salcedos at them they can handle. They'd be crazy to turn us down.

I feel like this happens a lot. We are interested in a player months in advance of other clubs, but a club like Bayern comes in last minute and swoops the player up. Then the player doesn't realize their potential or becomes a shadow of their former self. Sometimes the player ends up being good still, but it's so infuriating when we miss out on talent because of stuff like this.

Well, Bayern have money and we don't. Can't blame Cairo for prioritising them, or in fact anyone who can pay actual money for the arguably best performing CB in the league.

Yeah, I don't understand this panic. It's pretty normal other clubs are interested in this kind of player who's really blossoming big time.

We've shown our interest, we have the basic agreement with the player but we need to figure out how to do the deal with Cairo.

It depends on the journalist. If the report is from Plettenberg, then it's certainly reliable. If it's from Max Bielefeld, not really. But most big sources in Germany (Sky, Bild, Sport1) have reported Bayern are interested in Bremer so they're definitely in the mix. Good thing is Bayern don't seem willing to spend big on a cb.

Yes, I`m also banking on that. Still hoping they get at least 1 CB from Chel$ki on free, or heck, even Ginter.

If Bremer really promised himself to Inter (a la Barella), he can reject all other destinations. And he seems the type of player that would rather prefer to stay in Italy.

He didn't. All he did was agree to join us, under the condition that we reach terms with Torino. He's free to do that with a number of clubs.

Barella on the other hand was a locked transfer and all we had to do was give Cagliari the money we agreed to, but somehow we ended up paying more because Marotta decided to restart negotiations with them

I just hope that fucker Paratici won`t buy Bremer to sabotage us... We need Raiola to feed him De Vrij.
