So Serbia's defence is the best in Europe, huh?
Bring on the rest of Europe, first up those hippy pot smoking carnts from Amsterdam, revenge for 98.

Abbondanzieri: I still don't think he is that good, but he handles crosses very well, good game.

Burdisso: Great game, being in a team with Ayala & Heinze has made him about 60% more tougher, he does not go in easily and Kezman now knows who his true father is.

Ayala: Ayala was Ayala, nothing else to say.

Heinze: still at times shaky, but he is getting back to full fitness, Kezman thinks can out-muscle Heinze, Croat please!

Lucho: breathtakingly unlucky, when his turn to shine comes he gets injured, he would've added so much more to the passing as well, his time will come, pe so Lucho!

Mascherano: Dejan who? Stankovic just got the biggest rogering of a life time from some bloke who looks like a dead horse.

Cambiasso: Wonderful goal, incredible goal, not just the finish, but his awareness and timing, if your centre mid gets injured, who wouldn't want Cuchu?

Saviola: despite all the sh1t he gets, he keeps proving people wrong, good performance.

Maxi Rodriguez: miss of the tournament, his 2nd goal, shouldn't be awarded to him, but he still played well.

Riquelme: the second goal, 24 passes, Riqi in the middle of it, he truly deserves #10.

Crespo: like Ayala, Crespo was Crespo.

Tevez: was nervous at first, you could tell but when the ball just came to his feet and he could run at defenders, you knew he was going to murder them.

Messi: save the best for last, not ashamed to deny it that I had a tear in the eye when he came on and Maradona was shown. Some big occasions tend to be a let down, but in 10 minutes of WC futebol: Lio Messi, 1 goal & 1 assist.
the new messiah in world futebol has arrived.

one more thing, to the critics (I tend to call them bleeders & bitter carnts): :ass:

Oh man...I was in Frankfurt at the game and in the accreditation center(long story...has something to do with a huge flag).
I saw the game there with a couple of people...and I swear..when messi came in, I had exactly the same feelings as you. I had tears in my eyes...before he was subbed in, I stood up and applauded for 3 minutes. Everyone was thinking what the hell was wrong with me.
Damn..this was just the greatest team performance I have ever witnessed on national team level. The second goal was just something I never thought to be possible.

The night after I was going freaking mad in downtown Frankfurt...I was too exstatic...I went for "Vamos Argentina, Vamos A Ganar!" with every Argentinian I saw..people around me thought I was on crack or something.

Credit to Pekerman...despite leaving Il Capitano out, he seems to know what he is doing.

Unbelievable....

Btw. you can see why Maradona is the greatest of all time by his reaction. While all other farking sellout Bozos like Pele and Baconbagher have suits on, critisise their teams but turn their head if the wind blows right, Maradona keeps it real with his people, wears his Argentina jersey and celebrates every goal, because he loves his country and his team and shows that he is a man of the people.

That's why Maradona is the love of the people and has my respect, while I take a strong p'## on sellouts like Pele and his gang. Fark them!!!

Romario was ten times the player Pele was anyway!

sh!t

Its so sad that great team like Ivory coast, team that could go all the way, and team that doesnt fear of anyone, wont continue on this WC.

who's fault is it,..stupid Ruiz's. damn colombian
2 clear penalties, and also another 2 that could be...

But life goes on, I survived it, but I must say Drogba is a monster. The guy is amazing player, just like almost every other there, but he really is something special

Oleguer, great to read.
I personally can't see how people consider Pele as a better player or person than Maradona, Pele is just about as fake as gold, consistently bags out his NT, licks the face of every country he visits at every oppurtunity (remember when he went to Saudi Arabia and he said he expected them to make the WC final) and is just a marketing tool, and I use the term tool loosely.
WC opening ceremony was the greatest piece of example of all of this, Martin Tyler was laughing at him when he was commentating.

Anyway, regarding Messi, the news is that Messi/Tevez, Cruz, Milito will all play against the Dutch.

 mate, I'm just going by what newspaper reports have been saying and that is that Crespo with a yellow is going to be rested. I don't wanna ruin your fantasy team, but I'm very sure both Pekerman & van Basten are going to rest all of their players on yellow cards.

I'm expecting this to be on of the greatest matches in the whole World Cup, great players (Argentina) vs. great tactics (Netherlands), and of course being Portuguese I also want to see who is Portugal facing in the 2nd phase.

Nothing much is happening in the Argentina-Holland game, both teams are on par with each other. Holland has had more possesion, but Argentina had much better chances, we have seen very few Messi and Tevez magic, but still they were enjoyable.

it doesn't help when the Dutch take off an attacker and bring on ANOTHER defensive midfielder.

One question, if a person has a gun and purposely shoots at another person (intending to cause harm) but it only hits their arm, is that not still attempted murder?

why do I ask?

because in the Argentina vs Holland match, around 60th minute, Riquelme had the ball in the penalty box, he was clearly being held, although surrounded by 3 Dutch players, wasn't a dangerous situation, but he was still being held, is that not a penalty?
