Croatia has been underwhelming. And they don’t have a CF that can score goals consistently. Scotland lost Gilmour to Covid though. He was pretty impressive against England. I honestly expect a draw.

Yea, I had Croatia as my pick for biggest disappointment for this Euro.

Even though I don't rate England, the difference was clear between their group stage match and their 2018 World Cup game. England have refreshed with young talents like Mount, Foden and Sancho having come into the fold of a generally improved squad.

Meanwhile for Croatia, leaders and veterans like Mandzukic, Corluka, Subasic and Rakitic have all retired and not been replaced sufficiently. The other big players like Modric, Perisic, Vida and Lovren are all 3 years older and slower.

Generation issues aside, they've also just hit a real shit patch of form leading into the competition and seem to have carried it into Euro as well. They've only won like 2 out of their last 11 games?

World Cup 2018 sucked. One of the worst tournaments out there.
Euro 2016 was also very bad.

This Euro seems far better than both so far which shows a lot since it's barely with any fans after 1.5 horrid seasons of lack of normal football.

Em please correct me here, but as far as I can tell it would be better for England and Czech Republic to finish second in their group.

According to the EUFA website:
1st in Group D plays 2nd in Group F (probably France, Germany or Portugal)
but
2nd in Group D plays 2nd in Group E (probably Sweden, Slovakia or Spain)
